I already managed to beat this tale with only 3 days left. And I'm finally at the final trial of the sage leaf in order to get that final onion to complete the colorful onion.

I did Olimar's Tale by accident because I was thinking that I will just talk to Olimar before getting to the Giant's Hearth in Pikmin 4, not knowing that it would take me about 10 more additional hours playing as Olimar as he relives his memories on how he crash landed onto the planet. I guess I should be thankful I did this before doing the post game areas because that meant that I had access to a new area in this game.

So since Olimar knew aboutt the Pikmin does that mean that Pikmin 4 takes place after Pikmin 3?

Incorrect, Olimar's Shipwreck Tale likely started the day after he met the Pikmin. Yonny at one point commented that Koppai's population is booming and could suffer a food crisis, it hasn't happened yet, this is a new take of Pikmin 1
