Whatever you think about Sarout, he was an extraordinary human being. Not many people could captive crowds, even when he breaks out into song, the way he could. He could’ve been a CEO, a politician, or a pop singer, in addition to a football star, if he’d chosen a different path. I’ve seen some videos of him in front of thousands of people in Homs where he honestly looked like the Syrian Michael Jackson. Love him or hate him, he was unique.
