Great video. that is a Jewell uncrowded, I think even the locals were surprised and amused by watching the surfers, as they have never ever seeing one...great spot!!!!

I appreciate you keeping the locations on the down low. Can you please suggest some good locations for me when I come from California? I did Siargao this year but next year I want to do North of Manila, east and west coast. Is Dec and January good for a beginner intermediate surfer? Thanks bro. Oh... Use more English or run some translations. My girl is getting sick of me saying "what he say?"
@AbdelElecho Жыл бұрын
Yeah better to keep it that way, most of the places that i go are not yet welknown. West coast has good waves and sunny days by December till March. La Union and nearby places (south and north) has decent waves and no crowd at all. Just message me before you come. I will try to do a caption/translation on my future videos. Speaking english all the time on my vlog is hard 😅 Thanks for the support🙏

@@AbdelElecho I was thinking about a 2-4 week around the whole north. East and west. Maybe I can rent a sleeping van? Or take the bus to somewhere north and look for a vehicle that I can rent and maybe sleep in some nights. Let me know if you have ideas. I see some of your other videos have the maps and your route etc. Probably beaches best for me will be more easy to access. Not through harsh terrain and jungle. Even though those are the best, I will probably not drive motorcycle.

It's great that you don't reveal the locations of the spots. The search is really a huge part of the trip.
@AbdelElecho Жыл бұрын
For me, the search is the most exciting part of surfing. I wont reveal the not so famous spot, its up to them to look for it.
@PhantaseaTV Жыл бұрын
Won't make an ounce of difference if this is truly the northwest. I've lived here for ten years and have published numerous videos and books with maps etc... and still the only foreigner who's ventured to my village since covid was some Russian dude who doesn't even surf. Everyone talks hush hush but the truth is, they are just keyboard coveters because nobody really gives a f*ck about NW PI. It is temperamental up here and not convenient to get around. Millions of waves go unridden here each year, people would rather spend their hard-earned travel money on Indo or some other more reliable locale.
@-.John.Doe.- Жыл бұрын
@@PhantaseaTV wrong pal, I've been living in Indonesia for the last 20 years full time, and breaks off the beaten track have been ruined thanks to some clueless Indonesians coming to the areas with promises of a better life thanks to the worst you can do in the surfing universe (surf schools, contests, international exposure, etc). In the end once the place is ruined the visitors move on and what's left is a socio economic disaster. Some places are better left untouched, even though it means a lack of development for the locals. It's not up to any outsider to judge what's best for those living there. And it's not nice to bring the worst to them, tourism if not strictly controlled is a death sentence for any area. @AbdelElecho is right not revealing any names. Nobody wants to see some laid-back places turn into a surfing oriented shit show. Even war torn places can radically change within a couple of years for the worst, I'll cite Aceh in Sumatra as an example. Keep it quiet and low key if you found gold before you get stripped and discarded before you even got time to say WTF...Surfing is always best uncrowded.
@PhantaseaTV Жыл бұрын
@@-.John.Doe.- Buddy, first of all, they claim this video is of NW Philippines but those spots are only a few hours drive from Manila. Go to the true NW (Ilocos Norte, Cagayan) and its a frontier with barely any takers. Its tough to get to and even harder to score. Where I live the villagers are dirt poor and me and one other Aussie have been the only "outside help" they've ever gotten. We have introduced surfing to some young locals and it has given them an outlet and healthy diversion from an otherwise hardscrabble life. Years go by in and out and all I hear from people that don't even live here (mostly foreigners overseas) is your mantra don't expose the spots, but they never ever fricken come here at all, they never come to interact with the village or provide any kind of support. They just sit behind their keyboards and flame about not exposing spots they never invest any time money or effort in, at least where I live. Now generally I agree, brash commercialization of spots leads to destruction and decay all around. But there is something called sustainable tourism. Mind you, the real threat we face is restriction of access and destruction of waves, not overcrowding. Would be wonderful to have some keyboard warriors actually come out here and be a real person for a change, and get involved in the real daily issues we face. I literally see millions of empty waves go unridden each year in over 100 spots, so take your greed and stuff it.
