As a 5th year Computer Science student, I've watched hundreds of tutorials. This is the first time I'm commenting an a video. I'm blown away of your way of explaining topics from start to finish. This didn't feel like a lecture at all. I was actually having FUN while watching your video and learning about indexing etc. Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication! You are a true talent. Not many have the "gift" of being that good in teaching other people. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! With regards, a Computer Science student from Athens University of Economics and Business (Greece)

He is unequivocally one of the best teachers I've ever seen. His teaching skills can be considered as a benchmark in computing fundamentals. Whenever he explains something, he takes as step by step approach. For instance, in this video, he explained why we need to have a multi-level tree, m-way trees, and then b-trees, etc. If we study in this way, it's easy to remember things, as we can always go back in mind and recall why this thing was created. Also, I loved the pace at which he explains, not too slow or fast. He makes sure to re-iterate important things. In short, I am truly impressed by his skills. Thanks a lot, sir 😀

Thank you for the explanation from the bottom up! This kind of thoroughness is exactly how I learn best. At the beginning you said something like, "If you understand these topics, you'll never forget B-Trees" and you were completely correct. I have such a thorough understanding now that they seem almost intuitive. Great video. I would love to see a video continuing onto deletion and analysis.

I don't know how to thank you , words are very less. I am feeling right now as if i didn't knew anything about these topics earlier though i always had a doubt on indexing. and i m feeling that either i had not studied it properly or our faculties were good for nothing for not clearing it to the root level , which they were expected to be , as we are paying a lot of fees. I am watching this video in the mid of my placements in my 6th year of M.C.A. and this video is not less than a god to me. You are a teacher in a true sense .... I usually don't write comment on KZbin. But I couldn't skip this one. This is the true good example of a teacher and teaching skill we need in our schools and colleges. without any fantasy or advanced animations, with only a marker and a whiteboard he taught me everything that I needed to understand B-tree and it's use case. Great job!

Sir, why do we need to search in 5 blocks for accessing a record? We have 4 blocks for the index file, and as index files are always sorted then we can apply binary search on the blocks for finding our desired block, so *_log(base 2)n + 1(for accessing the block in the disk)_* [n is the number of blocks] should be required na? i.e. log(base2) 4 +1 = 3 block access are enough to find a block.

But are block always contagiously stored ? If not how will we implement binary search in separated address blocks , do we need to make a new index to implement binary search??
