it was supposed to be an upgraded version of poetry but it doesn't apply to modern rap songs. you can't flex in poetry bro lmao. poetry always revolves around one topic, the popular ones being appreciating your s/o, heartbreak or just praising the lord. you can't just flex in poetry like you do in rap, they're both different now. although you can incorporate poetry into your rap, but not rap lyrics in poetry.
