There is something about this scene that just hits you HARD. The voice acting, the dialogue, the realizations both these characters make, just EVERYTHING about this scene emotionally impacts you. This honest to god is more emotionally investing than most tragedy mediums can; and this is a show about BASEBALL of all things! God I love this anime, I love these characters, and I love the relationship these two have! This always gets my chest tightened up at how bittersweet it is; it's so engaging!

GerryIsNear I play softball and played baseball until the age of 12. I've played many other sports as well and if you love the sport. You cry when you don't win. Not because you're a poor sport, but because you believe you didn't work hard enough. I love sports anime and this one in particular. It's relatable. Although my GAME face is more like Abe's. A catcher must always be in sync with the emotion of the pitcher because its a dual sided matter and how well they co operate can turn the tides of the game but for them to reach at that level of unity, it takes lots of time and energy put in as effort to understand each others pace

I hope someday they actually become canon because holy fuck, it's either heavily implied or I'm just delusional. The tenderness and softness Abe feels towards Mihashi is just out of this world. Romantic or not, they make such a great pair together and I've always loved watching their relationship develop with each other. Abe having to learn to keep his patience, and Mihashi having to learn how to properly communicate with Abe. :')
