Abeille Bourbon - massive Salvage Tug moored at Brest Harbour

A Deep Sea Salvage Tug called Abeille Bourbon moored in Brest Harbour on 150912
I have never seen such a HUGE Tug !! check out the twin sets of tunnel thrusters. I spoke to a local who stated that this mighty vessel is on permanent standby ready to tow any ship in difficulties within a large radius of the northern tip of France.

Le plus gros remorqueur d'Europe, notre magnifique abeille de Brest.. Notre emblème. Une véritable bête monstrueuse des mers... Quand vous avez le rail de ouessant, l'un des endroits les plus dangereux au monde, l'Abeille est là. La seule à sortir quand personne ne s'y aventure. On l'aime nôtre Abeille... Ici c'est Brest !

+Lee Withey hello, ocean salvage tugs have to operate in extreme conditions which makes them remarkable vessels in their own right. i have not seen a large anchor handler yet !! one day ... :)
