We have been raised with a mentality that men don’t cry, to be honest I lost my parents at a tender age but I never shade a tear for them because of that societal syndrome of men not cry, but the pain hits real hard when I hit rock bottom, but mwamuna siama lila: I feel men cry and we need the support of society to help us go through certain challenges in life.

The ideology that "real men don’t cry" has often reinforced the notion that showing emotion is a sign of weakness, but it's important to recognize that strength comes in many forms, including the ability to express emotions and vulnerabilities. Embracing a more nuanced understanding of masculinity can empower individuals to be authentically themselves
@Bell-Power190

Mwamuna samalila, I never used used to know wat those words really meant till I became a man, A man is a Pilar of strength in every family hence shouldn't show it that you are broken when u are really broken, only a few family members 1,2 or 3 should know /friends 1 or 2are enough. A broken Man is considered to be weak and undesirable by society

Almost 4 years later is when I'm getting to know about this song, through a work colleague. I don't have a son yet, but i do have a baby brother that has been in my arms since he was days old. I actively see all the societal norms that tell him to not cry when he falls or hurts himself, to not behave or feel a certain way because he's a boy. I don't even tolerate that whether from our mother or grandmother. I tell him, cry all want, scream if you want to. Talk about your feelings, your thoughts. Tell me everything, when you think there's no one to listen I'm here. Because at the end of the day we're all human, with thoughts and feelings regardless of gender. And there is power in embracing the things that make you weak. Because then no one will ever use them against you. Thank you for this masterpiece Abel Chungu❤

He breaks down when he's broken, he cries out loud when things get tough and am grateful for that because unlike my other brothers, It helps him stay sane in this tough world.❤❤❤ to all men out there please talk about your feelings. How can you honestly click dont like button seriously. I'm wondering the deslikes.. what is there to deslike. for the first time men have a song that does not portray them as villains, abusers or cheaters but speaks of what goes on in our daily lives behind the scenes. BIG UPS this is song of the year for me.

It's now one year plus but am still listening to this great song. 2021 was a year I will never forget and this song gave me hope and courage, after listening to the song I went straight to my parents and cried like a baby. I thought a man shouldn't cry but that was a lie because the moment I let out my pains through crying and asking for help from my parents I felt great and relieved..

Thé sad reality is that today it’s not even family that’s demanding and repeating these words in men’s ears, but the people they are seeking to share their weaknesses with and find comfort, Spouse or girlfriend.. « Mwamuna afunika ndalama ‘a man should have money’ »

I listen to this beautiful song every day & I find myself in tears cos when my mother died I saw my big brother holding back tears just so he would be strong for me but with that his never been the same again so after I came across this song my story has changed I have started encouraging my husband & son that it's ok to cry & let out..

Abel Chungu thanks a million times for this song; we grew up knowing that men don't cry, even when you lost your parents or something dear to you. We die and cry from the inside. I will sing this sing as long as I live because it represents and speaks for me as a man. Mwamuma amalila
