Aberfeldy 18 Years Bolgheri Limited Edition is one of 2 new bottlings in Aberrfeldy's Red Wine Cask Collection. This collection is a series of limited bottlings with wine cask finishes, created by Master Blender Stephanie Macleod. The 18-year-old spent many years in refill oak casks and then was finished in Tuscan ex-red wine barriques from Bolgheri. The Aberfeldy 18 Years Bolgheri Limited Edition is bottled at 43% vol.

Great review. I had Aberfeldy 12 and enjoyed the fruit notes. It did have some bitterness on the finish but I wasn't complaining at 34 Euros. It would be great to see it at 46% and not coloured though. I also have an Aberfeldy 21 that I'm saving for a special occasion. I wouldn't have bought it (still at 40%) but it was on for 80 Euro so I got sucked in. Craigellachie 13 is possibly my favorite scotch depending on my mood so if you haven't reviewed it yet, please do. Cheers.

I cast my vote for Aultmore as it seems to be the Bacardi brand that serious integrity enthusiasts favor most after Craigellachie.
