Aberfoyle's popularity for gravel is partly down to it's proximity to Scotland's big population centres. The south of Scotland has extensive gravel riding, From Galloway in the. West, Mabie and Ae forests near Dumfries to the Borders in the east. And if you're not frightened of big wind turbines, the wind forms have great gravel access roads.

All very good points. Now that I live further North, Gravelfoyle is further away. Saying that it’s still worth the trip! You never know how scary a wind turbine is until you cycle under one 😅😅

Great video! I love the days when you wonder if you're doing the right thing going out but then it turns out to have been a great day.. the best ☺️ I've only been a few times as it's far for me, but so much off road fun. I've got loads more to explore! 🚴

Lovely gravel riding video. Would be nice if you put up a little map or something about where you’re riding.

That’s a good idea. You can find the routes on my strava if you want to know where about they are 😊👍

It was great 😊 and that’s on a rubbish day. It would be fantastic in good weather. Still beautiful in the rain too.

Super video, thanks. But, you need mudguards and at least front suspension!!
@jennycycles2 күн бұрын
I do have mudguards but I think one of the great things about gravel rides are going off road and getting muddy!! As for front suspension I think that depends on the type of terrain. Gravel roads are usually ok for gravel style bikes. I guess that’s down to personal preference though. I don’t mind riding without it.

Looks like a great ride. How long was the route you took and how much climbing was involved? Would like to see you do😊 it again when the sun is shining.
@jennycycles Жыл бұрын
The route is just under 40km and has around 600m of climbing. It’s a great route and yes, we will have to go back in the sun.

Aw that’s a shame you do t have gravel near you. In Scotland we are pretty lucky. It’s great at this time of year to get off road. Il be back on the tarmac when the roads get better! Thanks for supporting 🥰
