I really appreciate how u provide all the vital stats in the description! So few WhiskyTubers even do that even those who do as much research or cask deep diving as u, so thanks!

Nice comparison. I'm glad there 700 ml and not 500 ml. That Aberlour Batch 1 is insanely dark. I have Batch AB18-1-19 for about $109 and its good, but not as dark or good as yours I'm sure. My best 18 is probably Glendronach. I've had 2 bottles already and have a 2019 which is actually 24 yr, but still unopened. Next would probably be Talisker 18. The most I would pay for a standard 18 release is probably $125-150.. Great review.

Great review again. My favorite 18yo are the Bunna and the Glen Scotia. Always buy them again.

Enjoyed your comparision against the "Glendronach 18" as a benchmark of quality? Have you tried the Dewar's 18 year old? Much appreciate your review, Jason 👍

Dewar's 18 was not a favorite of mine - too much grain

Yeah, I bunkered 3 GD18s when they were around for under 100eur. I wish I'd bunkered 10. I have a bottle of the Aberlour open too, was a gift. I wouldn't have paid the US market price (~$180!) for a 43% bottle, but I'm not mad about owning one. It's very tasty. I've always liked Aberlour vs. its peers, though. The 12, at 40%, kills the other 12yo 40% options on the shelf.

found it now for 90 Euro ! That sounds like a rather better deal nowadays Anyway - if it is not only about sherry cask 18 year old than there would be things like AnCnoc 18, which is supposed to be quite good and under 100 , then also there are different Aberfeldy`s under 100, not sure about those though, and also things like Old Pulteney could be found around 100 or under. I remember having liked the older version of Glenlivet 18 10 years ago quite a lot, a bit weak maybe, but quite subtle for me , and these are still affordable, maybe just worse nowadays . Otherwise Tomatin 18 Sherry - from 90 Euro upwards, Deanston - there are at least still 2 different versions on the market, starting at about 90 Euro as well. So - for 90 Euro ? Is it worth getting the Aberlour 18 first, and then AnCnoc 18 ...

I was not a great fan of the AnCnoc 18 - but I really like this Aberlour 18

I noticed your 16 and 18 Aberlour are 43% ABV. I’ve only ever seen 40% ABV in both.

Weird - I will never understand the different ABV's in different markets :-(

Pretty much any decent 18yr is overpriced now, my most recent favourite Ledaig 18 just went up from 200$ to 250$ aud in my market so that’s it for me, I’m refusing to keep going with these price rises it’s rediculous. A lot of great more affordable younger stuff around.

Sorry dude, this is the first time watching one of your videos and it's just too much rambling about random stuff (at one point you're just naming 18yo whiskies as if you're on a tv game show) and too little focus on the whisky that's in the title. Too little focus on nosing and tasting. I recently bought and tasted the Aberlour 18yo and am very happy with it. Would've liked some more in-depth analysis here.
