The Abertax Technologies Magnetic Water Inlet Valve features a float with an embedded magnet that operates a diaphragm type valve. The rising water level lifts the float. The magnet inside the float then moves a stainless steel pilot plunger which closes the valve.
Mechanical Construction
The Magnetic Water Inlet Valve has a glass-reinforced acetal resin body and a polypropylene float and housing. The armature is made of stainless steel 410/430 and the diaphragm is nitrile rubber. The screws are stainless steel and the magnetic material is ferrite. The inlet filter is made up of a stainless steel mesh encapsulated in a plastic housing that can be easily removed for cleaning.

Great video... Iwas just about to buy one when i checked on Amazon and found people that had had them fail and left a comment. The manufacturer had not chosen to reply to those comments, which does not give one much confidence. So I will not be buying.

It's called a pressure switch.

You are looking for a feedback device based on the input from the level. You need a level switch for that. This is purely mechanical....

Hi, in view of above comments I would suggest trying Hudson Valves. I have been using them for 30 Years. They usually last about 10 years, sometimes longer. I have about 8 in use for watering livestock.. Always use a pre-filter to keep out debris and use good quality plumbing between filter and valve. I have had them work following a winter of minus 40 C! search internet for best deals. Good luck and stay safe.

I fitted one of these. The valve stuck open and flooded the place. I reduced the flow rate to enable excess water to be taken away by the overflow system as an interim protection. The valve sticks open and closed - what a load of rubbish, now replaced with a conventional float valve. Waiting to get a credit from BES.

How does the valve stand up to extended periods without being turned off? Like, if I have it as a safety shut off to prevent overflow, and it is not activated for years or decades, will it still function perfectly? i want to set it up in a fish tank, drilling a hole at the top of the tank to drain water out at that level, and have the water valve on an inlet to constantly supply fresh water to the tank, but if the drain ever plugs and stops draining I want a 100% guaranteed stop tot he incoming water flow to prevent overflow in to my kitchen and living room. If it is suitable, where can I buy one? Well, for that part I guess I could ask Google, but the name is so generic I'll get 2,000,000 hits!
