This is a genuine prodigy who was lucky enough to be handed a bass guitar in childhood and has grown into a surpassing performer of huge talent and jazz sophistication. Not only that, she's adding important material to a style of jazz fusion that is both new and very familiar to those of us who loved the best of the '70s fusion as well. Best of all her most complex fusion choices are still very musical to the ear. What a gift she is!

Zonak Mahanta you are correct. I didn’t mean to imply they do. And I see the silliness of that. Just as silly as women with peacock tattoos 😉 As I said, her hair seems to have a life of its own. Cherry Snow no. If you do your research, you will see it is her hair. She has styled it that way for some time. Natural born Indian women do not tend to have hair twisted and curled that way. Nevertheless, it defines her persona along with her accent in English which has diversified since she started getting more recognition a few years ago. I cannot recall an Indian lady getting that much status playing such a eclectic musical instrument in years. I hope she goes far. One thing for sure, we will remember her for more than her look.

She's doing tabla rhythms on her bass at times, interesting. I think her natural tendency is toward the avant garde moreso than to jazz. She favors extreme tempo and intensity virtually each time she performs a piece, frequently piling up complexity on complexity. A very busy mind in her.
