Abhi...the amount of work you have done on your bike is quite commendable...and quite a list... If I may ask....did you use your bike in stock form enough before started the list of upgrades..what I mean to say is it advisable to use the stock bike hone your skills, learn about your bike than do upgrades as per need or load up bike first and gradually up skill yourself.. take example of Yudhvir, his bike is almost stock, still he is keeping up pace with your bike..
@abhinavbhatt3 жыл бұрын
See, I always had the rally kit in mind when deciding to buy my bike. So I haven't ridden the stock bike much. Best would it be to do it gradually. First get the stock bike. Try it out. Gain confidence. Then one by one keep making tweaks according to your needs. That's the best way to learn. Yudhvir is just a much better rider.

Is the upgraded piston not hard on the self start motor? I've upgraded Yamaha Fz16 v1 (2013) with NMW piston of Karizma, with NMW highlift Camshaft, NMW ignition coil, 8 MAP RACING CDI BY NMW and racing clutch plates, Bajaj 200 carb, last but not the least changed to the bigger sprocket set from Yamaha R15 v2, all this did improve the pickup and punch drastically and I loved it to the core, however!!!!! the kick got harder than old royal enfield 350 and the self start motor was tooo small to handle the stronger 225cc piston! Upgraded the battery as well, and self worked for a month or so and finally died... bought a new self as it was the original old self motor and still it do much good.... struggled to start the bike few times and got struck which bothered me alotttt, as the basic task of the bike is to take me to my destination and it didn't made much sense to struggle just to start the bike with hard kick!, hence eventually rolled back the engine setup :( PS, I wasn't able to find a stronger self motor which could fit in my Yamaha Fz16 v1!

How has it affected the cruising speed(without vibrations) on the highway?
@MDNasir-yo9yh3 жыл бұрын
Hi Abhi, I think i have busted the piston rings on my BS6 xpulse. When i ride hard, at times i see a lot of whitish smoke from the exhaust. last weekend, at an offroad trail, took a few falls and rode a bit hard. next morning there was a small pool of oil from the air filter housing, i guess excessive crank case pressure. Even the performance feels a tad bit slower. So i am assuming the pistons have gone/partial seizure.If i have to change piston and cylinder, Was contemplating the NMW big bore kit. May be add the 40T karizma sprocket at the back and at max high lift cams. not too sure on the juice box, exhaust and 6 spring clutch. What do you think from your experience. We all know xpulse if a great bike except the engine/power.. So the intent was to improve on that.. DO share your thoughts. Thanks. !! :)

Change the rear by 2-3 more than stock.

Great video Abhinav, looking forward to getting this motorcycle as my first! Could we have more on-road numbers like mileage after this 230cc mod? And how it varies with different engine modes?

That compilation will require a lot of testing. I'll first do a road ride with some performance stats.

@Abhinav: Please do a video on performance of those Knobby tyres on tarmac. Grip and Braking wise. Wanted to understand the difference before swapping them on my bike.
@abhinavbhatt3 жыл бұрын
If tarmac is your primary purpose, don't get them. They are trail/race knobbies. Won't last in tarmac and won't inspire confidence either.

@@abhinavbhatt My primary purpose is trail mostly, but my concern is to take the bike from my place to the trail and I don't have any pickup or anything like that. Hence whether it can do like 20-30 kms before hitting the trails is where I come from. But yeah I do understand that these are like 80-20 or 90-10 tyres and I would be damaging the lifetime of the knobs by putting it more on tarmac.

Then your use is quite like mine. Get the knobbies. And to see the advantage of knobbies on sand, watch my video tonight.

@@abhinavbhatt Oh yeah. Sand is a killer enemy of those CEAT tyres. I have this small sand stretch near my home and it feels like a boat on a river. The back just keeps swaying from side to side. I literally sit on the back edge to get some sort of traction. But that's also mostly pointless. Also saw your sand video. Good stuff. Really appreciate the content that you generate. Got to know about NMW from one of your videos. Thanks.
