It looks like Maharaja never travelled to Kashi, but the lyrics seem to depict he actually has seen the place. The ganga flowing pure as milk, ghats full of Sanyasi's, ash laden idol of Vishweshwara, trident in his hand with nag mala around the neck. Goddess Parvathi as his half and the entire three worlds being his dasa praying both to Padmanabha and the lord with three eyes. Very beautiful and sublime rendition by Abhishek superbly supported by HNB and Patri ! That was indeed a divine, blissful Kashi Vishweswara darshan !!

This song I use to hear TVS used to sing his son did not sing sofar but Abhishek did the compensation of singing it in his unique style with hindustani bharavi style which we call Sindhu Bhairavi

What a magnificent composition by the Great Maharaja of Travancore, Swati Tirunaal, a multi-talented king who was fluent in as many as 10 languages! It was said that he composed this particular song as he longed to have a Darshan of Lord Vishwanath ji at the Holy City of Kaashi (Vaaraanasi), but due to some political pressure in his kingdom in Kerala, could not do so. In his dreams, he had a vision of the holy city and the residing Deity, Vishwanath ji in all His Glory, and this song was born! He invokes his Ishta Devata, Shri Padmanabha and states that both Hari and Hara are One and the Same! You remain forever indestructible (Avinashi). So soulfully rendred by Shri Abhishek Raghuram, and ably supported by Vidwan Shri HS Bhaskar and Shri Patri Satishkumar. Dhanyavad!

As Abhisek Raghuram and excellent mridangan and violin decide Chalo mana Kashi with Sindhubharavi purest aalapana it appeared to me this morning chalo mana..let's go oh mind.we listeners went deep into our soul with soulful rendition of Abhishek...and really did our loving Abhishek ..tears of love and tears of pain to the Lord Visweswara and Padmanabha as well...Darshan of Kashi in our minds were visibly seen in meditative mood listening to this wonderful composition..A very highly qualitative efficiently sung kriti with proficiency and perfection humbly done by all three equally is the highlight of this video which will be to stay for ever My deepest gratitude for the artists who enlightened me and others as well today Singaramani Lakshmiji 1982awardee for sangeet nritya by sur singar samsad May you 3 be blessed by Lord of Kashi

Dear Abhishek, a most evocative and original interpretation. The raga "Bhairavi" never fails to uplift the soul. Bhimsen left his stamp on Jo Bhaje. This ST composition Vishveshwara has a similar effect and so many renditions are so good. Vishveshvar darshan kar chalo man tum kAshi is probably on composition on the deity Kasi wantng all to have pilgrimage to Banarus/Kasi n have dharshan of Viseswar /siva there. Still in the concluding line of the Charanam he said to worship the lotus-eyed Lord Padmanabha too and the three-eyed Maheswara./Sivan so as to be immortal. This kriti was originally set to sing in 'Dhanasree' ragam but being sung in 'Sindhubhairavi ragam' by vocalists in cutcheries , Here Abhishek Raghuram presented a lovely rendition with a superb ragaalapanam........maintained perfect tone n diction . Charanam 2 n 3 were skipped......good recital..pranams to the great soul of maharaja Swathi Thirnal....best wishes to Abhihek
