You can go for photography degree . However , as a enthusiast, you can learn it externally as well. If you are not sure if you want to do photography as a career , then pursue other degrees and in parallel learn photography ...

You should pursue it in only 1 genre ! Max 2 genres if you are really good . No point in doing everything initially during your portfolio building phase !

Yes ... you can find work as intern or assistant with famous photographers. But it’s not easy thing to achieve. You should have that zeal for learning and working ! You should keep approaching good photographers especially commercial photographers who works in studios - advertising photographers and wedding photographers etc. Lots to learn in initial days !
