Creating arable land for agriculture in the rocky desert To consider a plateau of Bouanane may seem like a fool’s errand but this audacious scheme is exactly the Cooperative of Abi Inane has set out to achieve. By leveraging their knowledge, ingenuity and experimenting with traditional practices in innovative new ways, this cooperative has managed to grow many fruit trees, olive trees and date palms, and thus subsequently provided a much needed economic boost to the region.
