The city of Abidjan is clean and well-organised. But it is a bit of a concrete jungle to the extent of lacking greenery and vegetation. I think that the concept of beauty is relative, subjective and differs between individuals. One thing you cannot take away from Abidjan is its urbane skyline which is dotted with nice skyscrapers of various designs unlike Lagos, Accra or Yaounde. But, I like the city layout of Dakar Senegal more. Then, when it comes to expansive road networks, infrastructure, landscaping, greenery and futuristic organisation, no city in West Africa could compare favourably with Abuja, Nigeria. When Abuja is completed, it will have no rival in the entire West Africa. That is not, however, to take away anything from the beauty of Abidjan.
@AfamOrji4 ай бұрын
This makes so much sense. I share the same sentiment about Abuja and I think if Abuja can be dotted with beautiful skyscrapers, very few cities even in Africa will be able to touch it.

You have a long way to go , no power , no security , inflation and managed by PDP /APC thieves , collapsing currency, declining economy . Why not solve that and mind your own business before trying to manage the so call lacking greenery and vegetation of other cities outside nigeria

@ the 5:40 mark what was the name of that building? Also what I've noticed is that these are the emptiest streets I've ever seen. The city is clean but it looks kind of dead. I was really disappointed when I read the comments because we have this European fascination with the first or the best. This city is what it is admire the beauty for what it gives. No such thing as the most beautiful woman or the most beautiful city of the most beautiful flower. It is only as beautiful as what you can recognize and relate to. So when I hear people talk about the most beautiful woman or the most beautiful city I realize they have no idea what beauty is it is the artificial construct for then something that they cannot even interact with. We look at African cities like Europeans look at animals. We miss everything else looking for the Big 5. I hope one day we can start looking at African cities that Africans build that function towards the way African people live. One thing I've always noticed in other videos and not this one is you have a lot of people that move an African cities but no sidewalks or the sidewalks are filled with vendors that means the sidewalks are not big enough to function as African people themselves need them to. Same thing with communities but we still build development and cities like other people. This city seem like it had so much peace.
@seydoutraore28674 ай бұрын
Street with Sidewalk that you mentioned come from European cities organization. You can appreciate a city without comparison with the best making elsewhere in the world. People are working in these buildings so you could not a lot in the streets. And you noticed earlier there's no walking side so where do you want to see people?
@christianjiancc4 ай бұрын
@@seydoutraore2867 sidewalks are in every city in the world. You know why because people need to walk and not only visit your shops but to see your city. You literally said sidewalks are European city invention oh my God you don't even realize street lights and sidewalks where in Africa before Europe had them lol . And oh my God you mean people actually work in the buildings built in the colonial age I would have never figured that. And no one is comparing just because someone looks at the function of a city doesn't mean it's comparing it to a what you think is only a European reality. I literally said it is idiotic to go on top of the most beautiful of the first this or the first step when we look at Africa. So that means you must be one of those ones who said the most beautiful city so now your panties are in a bunch. You can always tell black folks who have no idea what Benin City look like, or are the cities in Africa pre-colonial times. Yet they love to tell you what African cities should be like and not to compare them to European cities. The ones who have no idea what pre-colonial African cities look like are telling you don't compare them to Africa to European cities 😂 Just sit down boy I don't even have time for this idiotic talk because your feelings are hurt by something I said. And this is what's wrong with Africa you are too busy attacking someone who loves Africa and kissing up to those who hate Africa. This is the main reason I hate even talking to you clowns on the internet
