First time I ever dropped acid at a festival I immediately left the stage area and the shit jam band playing there, went to my car and played desert sessions volumes one and two on repeat, along with certain selections from the rest. Changed my life. They have been my favorite albums ever since. If you out yourself into the mindset of the artists during its creation it really changes everything. It may sound mellow, but you'll see how insanely intense these songs are, pouring emotion, in the right context. For reals. In sure plenty have tripped to this. Spiders and Vinegarokns is also the perfect trippin song. Its like they made the psychedelic experience into musical form.

i know what you mean man!! i listened to black sabbath for years and the album artwork for paranoid never made sense until i looked at it on acid... listening to that album while tripping was completely different and i finally "got" it

I listened to this album during the come-up and onset of my first acid trip. This song, and Screamin' Eagle, literally transported me to another world in my head. LSD made me realize how much this album cover fits the music

@@mawtymawty9010 The first time I ever heard “screamin eagle” was riding in a friend’s Morgan 3-Wheeler (which is powered by a Screamin’ Eagle harley engine) down the highway in Joshua Tree. These songs are evocative of landscape.

I know this comment is old, but I couldn’t possibly fucking agree more! The first time I heard this whole album, I was tripping balls on lsd… and my god…. It completely changed the way I looked at music and making it. This album was 100% made on psychedelics, and being on psychedelics listening to it? I got it. I got what they were going for, I got the mind state they were in. You almost have to be tripping to TRULY grasp the whole feel of this album. It basically becomes a download of consciousness and vibe. I can’t believe he made this shit so young. This album is pure, free, genuine creative genius

Yeah, its not even that similar in structure to Kyuss. Its like early QOTSA meets late into the void era Kyuss though. Because that is exactly what it is, a transition from Kyuss to QOTSA.
@handsomebrick8 жыл бұрын
I bet if the original Kyuss made one more album before wrapping up, and this song was on it, you wouldn't have thought there was anything wrong with it.
@SonicAlchemy135 жыл бұрын
I don't know why some feel the need to be an asshole about your comment but yes, half of what was Kyuss is represented here with Josh and Brant on the track. Not something I could hear John Garcia putting lyrics to but with two members of the band in the mix one could definitely hear similarities.

@@SonicAlchemy13 brant doesn't play on this song. This is Josh, Fred Drake, Dave Catching, and Ben Shepherd of Soundgarden/Hater
