Sometimes I watch these videos and think „cool but i would never use that myself“. But then I think about it as a starting point and how to incorporate it in my own style and then I’m very thankful. Did not even know there was a crossfade option btw.. so cool!

Ahhhh yes. Another fantastic trick that’s gonna take me down a rabbit hole and not let me finish any music

There’s a crossfader? Wtf lol, when it comes to Ableton you learn something new everyday I swear

Yeah, and I've been using Live since v9 was new in 2013(?). To be fair, I've been using it mostly like a linear tape recorder. I'm pretty lost in the session view and the clip launching stuff is unknown territory.

That end result sounded a lot better than I expected after first hearing those Final Fantasy keyboards. Cool trick 🙂

I think it's really common that things that sound bad on their own sound really great in the context of the track

Really? The end result sounded like some random AI generated music to me.

Nice tip!!! Never thought I would use the crossfade option - until today :D

This is a great idea & got me thinking - you could also try crossfading between 2 versions of the same clip 1 dry the other with your favourite audio effects applied 🙌

A fun way to automate Dry and wet amounts that’ll have a different result than automating the dry/wet knob! Good idea ✅

This one is great for me! I was trying to do this with having an lfo shifting zones in the Sampler, but this is so much easier and direct for good flow and experimentation.

Reminds me of cutting between two records while DJing to create new turn arounds/fill-ins. 👍 Usually I keep reference tracks set up like this so I can give a quick A/B. I'll try switching it up like the video. Thanks for this.

nice. I always forget about the crossfader. But I didn't get, what 36ms track delay added (positive) to the final result?
@insert.silence Жыл бұрын
it helps to distinguish the two sounds, to emphasise that there are two different sound sources. track delay also helps with spacing (the same notes/sounds) with different delay times place the track differently in space.

Or map the XFade to an LFO via macros whilst your follow actions are jamming!

After seeing this i tried to put a max for live lfo device to trigger the crossfader automatically but that didn't work.

I’ve tried that as well. No can do. :)

Yeh, so many versions down the lines we really shouldn't still be running into such mapping/assignment problems..... Particularly on such old features. It should be protocol to have absolute flexibility as new features and devices are added.
