EDIT: Ok, gave myself a schooling in; MPE - Polyphonic Expression - which includes after touch, vertical and horizontal tilt - per key. PPR - Polyphonic pressure - after touch per key. CPR - channel pressure message - after touch per channel. My ancient Akai MPD24 does support PPR, and Live 11 does work with it - I just had a slight misconfig somewhere hardware side, but PPR and Ableton Live work well. If you're setting this up, use the Midi Monitor to help spot the signal, and Wavetable works well and supports these standards.

Any reason for the background music? only disturbs!

I agree that background music may be a little distracting from the actual content, yet I still somehow find it hauntingly beautiful. I’d love to hear the full track. Oh, and what a cool new device!

At 0:29 you say that all MPE parameters have been mapped. How did you map those MPE parameters?
@Ableton Жыл бұрын
Hi David. Thanks for the comment. There is an MPE tab in instruments that have MPE enabled. However, you can use MPE Control device for the rest. This is a real good vid breaking it down: bit.ly/3YKhMuc Thanks - Ableton

@@Ableton I don't see an answer for third-party VSTs. When I drop in a third-party VST and enable MPE for that plugin, I do not have a MPE tab in Ableton. So when I go to configure the plugin, there is no way that I can find to wiggle my per-note Slide, Expression, or PB on my Push 3 to map it to the VST parameters.

Hi David, Thanks for the comment. If you're not seeing the MPE tab then it indicates that particular VST does not have prepared MPE settings ready for use in Live. All per-note MPE automations can be edited within the "Expression Tab" for the MIDI clip you're looking to edit. If you're looking to edit MPE parameters from within a plug-in, you'll need to confer with the manual for the VST or contact the developer directly for support. Hope this helps. Thanks, Ableton

Ableton, please use Reid Stefan and Slynk for your demo videos. They would never have anxiety inducing background music like this demo has. Hard to watch and focus at the same time. Not a fan of the monotone robotic script reading presentations either in most of your demos. Reid and Slynk would represent your product in a more positive way in my opinion. Just being honest. And a simple and fast "bounce in place" key command would be nice for what you're charging for updates (been waiting 11 major updates now). Great DAW though even with lots of basic features still missing.

Will it work with push v1 ?
@cockur3 жыл бұрын
No sorry. With Ableton 11 Push 2 will transmit polyphonic aftertouch. Which is great after all this time but Push/Push 2 is not, nor ever will it be MPE capable. It has no means of processing polyphonic Glide or Slide. That would require a continuous surface instead of discrete pads

@@cockur I see, but will Push 1 transmit polyphonic aftertouch?

Hi, Push 1 and 2 support Poly Aftertouch in compatible Live devices and plug-ins. For instructions on how to set this up, please refer to this article in our Knowledge Base: bit.ly/3ks8gYu We hope this helps, cheers!
