Great device!! One of my favourite ways to use is on a Return Track!! for Frequency/Pitch Shifting Delays!! Set up a Return Track - Add the Shifter after a Delay. Set the Delay's feedback to 0% and enable the Delay send on the Return Track to send the Return Track back to itself. A good idea to add a limiter to the Return Track to prevent feedback disasters. Have Fun 🙂

Didn't fully understand what the midi sidechain was doing but definitely my favorite updated module so far. Would love it if you could assign the internal LFO to specific parameters within the module though like the Course knob instead of affecting the overall output sound.

Still feel new to Live. Is there a splitting MIDI effect so we could play one midi that outputs different mono midi to different instances of Shifter? So inputting chords would split into multiple mono notes sent to different midi tracks to send to Shifters?

does the shifter even shift incoming guitar tone? from my audio interface?
@Ableton11 ай бұрын
Hi there, Thanks for the comment. Yes, you can use Shifter on any incoming (or recorded) audio. Just be aware that applying complicated pitch shifting to an incoming audio signal live will be pretty memory-intensive on your computer, so do your best to work within your computer's limits! Or you could just record the audio and then apply the Shifter after. Thanks - Ableton

What is the difference between using pitch shifter here or just doing -12 or any other value on an audio clip in complex pro for instance ?
@th1s0rth4t2 жыл бұрын
This is an actual audio effect device, so it can be applied to any audio signal including VSTs and synths, and the parameters can be automated or controlled by a MIDI signal
@pioupiou28852 жыл бұрын
@@th1s0rth4t I see thank you But which algorithm does it use ? Complex ? or a new one ?
@josephjimorris2 жыл бұрын
@@pioupiou2885 If I’m right then it’s using a different method to manipulate pitch than the Warp modes use. I haven’t looked into Shifter enough yet to know it well, but I thought I read or heard something about it using resynthesis?
@micindir42132 жыл бұрын
@@pioupiou2885 there Is only one algorithm for real time that is window-based. It is similar to tones/textures. I guess simple crossfade between consecutive windows.
