I am 26 and thinking to switch from devops to design and this is so motivating! Also I am super surprised to hear what she said about the salary. The biggest reason that's stopping me from making an attempt to switch is that I wouldn't want to go back to freshers' salary (since I will be a newbie in design)

Hey Sargam all the best for you journey. When I was listening to your story I was relating to you totally the kind of struggle, doubts, speaking to people in the industry taking feedbacks. I was also working for 2 years with Tata Communications Limited and moved to UX/UI Design job role after resigning and did diploma in UX/UI then working on portfolio giving interviews taking feedbacks. With gods grace recently got a job joined this week. It was like one and half year struggle after leaving job. I was also from Computer engineering background I use to seem only engineers coders do the software and application. I used to doubt like really are designer there in IT industry even after listening to my friends who moved to design field. Being from engineering background I use to think only developers testers are the people who create digital products. And in Tcl I came to know job is something which cannot be done just for money you have to do it whole life we have to find out and explore ourselves and find a type of work which really motivates us , excites us. And at the age of 28 I got the UX/UI design job totally new to this field and got good salary. I just really appreciate the efforts and brave decision you made even at this age having worked in other role previously. All aspiring designers I just would say work on portfolio try to give your best shot at portfolio , interviews, design test and yes resume too. One more advice to designers while looking for a job u will face rejections some will select u some will not, take feedbacks and improve. There is always one company out there which matches all our expectations and theirs as well. Everything gets aligned with time. JUST Be patient, work hard and believe in the journey, its just matter of time. Even if Its late, its all worth it at the end of this beautiful journey.😇

U joined tcs after btech meaning maximum at age 22 then worked 2yr & then did diploma plus job search for 1.5yr and even if add all that, it would be 26 yrs age then how u said in comment that u got job at 28.
