An example of having everything and nothing is ever enough. I grew up with a train track down and across the river. It ran twice per day and once at night. The train lulled us. It was always on schedule and as a kid was something to rely on. It also became sound that we became used to and eventually didn’t hear it.

I lived near busy train tracks; it just disappears into the background. If you're having fun on the water, why would the train bother you?

People go to the cottage as a retreat away from the city. Why go somewhere if you're still going to hear city noises like trains

@@horsie371 trains are not necessarily "city sounds". This was a good's train - city to city - therefore outside the city.

@@heatherjephcott5022 I disagree trains are definitely city sounds. Besides I have good trains go through my city all the time so I don't see your point.

I would've taken the first property regardless of the train. Living near a train just becomes something that helps you determine the time and eventually you become so use to it, you forget it's there. Her thought process on the bedroom off of the kitchen and living room made no sense to me either. That would be the perfect bedroom for an elderly family member or a someone that likes to be the first up making coffee or a family member that doesn't sleep much, because they are usually the last to go to sleep. They can watch tv into the night and go to bed without waking up anyone up on the second floor.

The interior views from house 3 were utterly magical and surreal. Truely paradise when you add the views from all the decks and boathouse.. I would have chosen house 3 for her and she has enough financial wherewithal to seek therapy about her fear of heights - and then live the life in this adorable home on that stunning lake.

The train doesn’t run 24/7 and I actually think the grands would love it! There’s just something about the sound of a train that whispers remembrance of the good ol’ days.

If the guy had put the lady's in the back, so they could see the view as they went down on the third house, I think they would have purchased it.

3:36 seems that sign means nothing. Living by a train would be very annoying. House number 3 is incredible.

Read The Dollmaker. It’s probably 50 years old maybe 40 years old (the book) and it was made into a movie. You will know that she doesn’t want a train

I loved the sound of the train in our little village when I was growing up! That said, I would check and see what the train is hauling. Is it chemicals? Is it something dangerous? Is it just a local train. Lots to think about.

You get used to train noise. My thought would be the lack of family space as there is no basement in house 1

If your grown kids don't want to spend time with you, it doesn't matter where you buy a house, they still wont come to see you. She'll need to kidnap them and then chop their legs off if she wants to keep them home.
