Abby needs a shirt saying something like: "This is My Favorite Place in the World". I think a neon sign fits really well with Booth Machine Shop, this museum looks awesome, thanks for sharing!

Fantastic video! I am an employee at the ASM and I loved seeing this video come across my inbox today! I looked through your channel a bit and it looks like you both have visited some fascinating and fun places. I would love to connect with you guys and ask you some questions about your experience at the American Sign Museum (if you have the time between travel stops!). Keep up the fun and interesting content, and safe travels!

Great video. I've loved neon since I was a little kid. I wish they would use neon more. LED just isn't the same.

A lot of the sequencers for animating the borders and letters in the signs are still mechanical. They look hand-made with a lot of machined components. If making some signage for your home, I strongly recommend getting some of the 12V LED neon strip. Not real neon, nut very similar effect and easy and safe to work with. Great when laid into routed plastic or wood. (But real neon is nice too if you can actually get it.)

That’s so awesome that you have such an appreciation for old signs. They are amazing art with beautiful colors and designs. I have collected many, many, signs for a number of years. I sold over 100 a couple of years ago to another collector but still have at least 50 and adding as I find others of particular interest. Thermometers are unique and they vary widely but don’t take up as much space for display. Size matter as you can run out of wall space very quickly. Signs are my favorite item to collect and my wife and I were pretty avid collectors but they rank at the top. Always good to see others with such appreciation. Keep making these videos and we’ll keep watching. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures.

They had a small selection of handmade vintage signs like these on display at the USAF museum in Dayton, OH when I took my son there back in May. He didn't care much for them but I didn't know until then that that area was a big producer of such neon signage. Wish I had known about this place before we headed back home, thanks for sharing!

Those old neon signs are almost a lost art now. Just like when my aunt passed away many years ago and we sold my grandparents' house (where she lived). There had been leaded glass windows on either side of the front door, until a paper deliverer put a Sunday newspaper through one of them. Granddad put flat glass in but kept all the leaded pieces (he was a Lockheed B29 machinist after all). When the property sold the new owner had all the leaded glass repaired (there's a sizable "craft/maker" population in the Atlanta area). I forget what it cost to have done with all the parts already made but reproducing one from scratch would be $$$$$$$$$$$$$!
