You know something pretty much 90% of all MCU movie Watchers will miss out on with this guy is actually how well-written and well-thought-out he is. His reason for continuing to be a fighter instead of moving up time to shows you that he's happy right where he is and in some area, reflects the not so stereotypical or cliche sing with most people who join the Army and thinking that they can't do anything else but this. And on the other side there's a lot of people feel about wanting to regain their youth so they can continue to do what they did before or are still doing. This dude, in some way if you think about it, reflects exactly what Ultron said Steve's fear was in Avengers 2.

Even though all what he did on The Incredible Hulk movie in 2008, in the Marvel one-shot called "The Consultant" it is revealed that the World Security Council wanted to see Abomination freed. As they considered Emil Blonsky a hero, a soldier who had undergone an experimental procedure in order to defeat Hulk, and they actually pressured Nick Fury to include Abomination in the Avengers Initiative on S.H.I.E.L.D. But the agents Phil Coulson and Jasper Sitwell conspired to ensure this didn't happen, using Tony Stark to annoy General Ross so much he refused to turn Blonsky over to S.H.I.E.L.D. It´s amazing that we will see him as a cameo on Shang-Chi and appearing totally on the She-Hulk series, can´t wait to see him back again as Abomination is my second favorite villain from the entire marvel universe which includes the comics and the MCU as well.

If I’m not mistaken, the Super Soldier Serum in this universe does for sure modify genotype-phenotype/gene expression/epigenetics and such. I think that’s partly why Abomination has some reptilian features, as though they were there in his DNA and awoken by the serum and even more by the gamma-ray kicker.
