I preordered The Serviceberry this summer - it's definitely a highly anticipated read for me! The Resurrectionist sounds interesting to me - I've also read a lot about the phenomenon in nonfiction so a historical fiction could be good

The new Wall Kimmerer is one of my most anticipated books of the year, and after your video I'm also really looking forward to 'Playing Possum', 'What Lies Beneath', 'Linguaphile' and 'Shy Creatures'. I'll be looking for reviews of 'Eleanore of Avignon' and 'Dear Unknown Friend' and might give them a try too.

Robin Wall-Kimmerer writes her books as if they are a homogenous view of Native people but in general her books are not supported by most people in the larger Nativr community. Although she is enrolled in a tribe in Oklahoma, she didn't grow up there and does not do any work in her community. Her mother is not Native and she is from New Yprk state where RWK grew up. New York is also the ancestral homelanfs of Native tribes which RWK has no connection to. As an enrolled Native, it seems exploitative to manufacture some "ancestral Indigenous wisdom" in order to get book deals when they're not based on any Native knowledge, it's all her own ideas and it's a good thing that her books are labrled fiction. Too many people take her writings as if they are guide books.
