I definitely agree that with Aborted, Global Flatline took them to the next level, but I still loved their old stuff, even the stuff Sven doesn't like anymore, but with Cattle it took me until Death Atlas to really see the genius of their new direction. Then I went back and listened to Monolith of Inhumanity and Anthropocene Extinction again and realized how much I had been missing out, even though I had seen them live a couple times (once with Aborted and Origin in 2012), the new sound took a while to click with me.

This is only a modern deathgrind group. Still a fantastic band. Just not death metal.

I'm happy to see that they're apparently leaning more into the horror vibe again, I really loved that about Retrogore. I'm curious to see what influence Dan will have on their work, if any. Though I have to say, the overall composition did not really kill me this time. Especially the guitars' groove is kinda lacking, which I find usually to be one of the strong suites and defining characteristics of Aborted with all the neck breaking changes in rhythm, speed, and articulation. Anyway, this song still fucks reasonably hard and I'm stoked for the new release.
