Abortion access remains powerful issue, lifting Democrats in 2023 elections

Tuesday night's elections resulted in big wins for abortion rights, with Ohio voters choosing to enshrine the right to abortion in their constitution and Democrats winning key races in Kentucky and Virginia. Due to the pro lifer forced birth party I will VOTE BLUE till I die. My first planned pregnancy ended in a miscarriage at 12wks. The only hospital close was a catholic hospital. After confirming I was pregnant and telling me I was having a miscarriage THEY SENT ME AWAY! I was on the verge of hemorrhaging and had to go to my obgyn office. I had to wait at least 30 min on him in the waiting room, feeling like my guts were being ripped out of my body. Looking back 33yrs I realise I did not get admitted because it was a catholic hospital. As I get older I become a more 'devout Atheist' and pro choice. #VOTEBLUEFORSOMANYREASONS

It seems to me that, despite what Republicans have told us for years, Roe was the consensus: viability. That allowed for protections of life of the mother. In the tragic situations that we've SEEN can and do happen, even more often than I suspected as a "pro-choice" woman, the life being carried becomes inviable, and therefore triggers the change in priority that should happen; at that point, our priority should be to protect the life of the mother, which IS viable .. unless she's forced to continue to carry a life that's been determined cannot be saved. Viability is EXACTLY the consensus, as we've seen in every state where it's been tested. The issue staring us in the face is that we eliminated the consensus. Now what??

What IS 'personal freedom'? Permission to do whatever one wants, no matter how harmful yo others? US Republicans and Democrats seem to agree on this, but they apply the evil precept differently. Or should discipline and concern for the common good bear any relation to personal freedom/ Is that idea too radical to swallow? Freedom to do the right thing, in my humble opinion, should take precedence over freedom to do what is evil. Minimizing evil is also a good idea. I definitely believe in supplementing the income of women who are temoted to abort for economic reasons, so that they will not abort at all. I would favor this over tax breaks for the rich any day. But most people seem to hate centrist politics. Fighting tooth and nail is more fun.
