On the last video, I mentioned a rock-breaking tool used by miners called the Sierra Blaster. I went back to that video, and the comment with the link I left on the video is gone. I'm assuming that KZbin automatically deleted the comment because of the link. The Sierra Blaster can be used by anyone, no license needed. Another option for you to break up rock is a tool called a "feather and wedge". You drill holes in the rock, insert the feather & wedge, then drive the wedge in with a small sledge and the rock fractures into more manageable pieces.

So glad the kids are involved and helping out. Especially for the clean up stuff...sends a very powerful message. It's always good to see you guys ☺️

Use those stones on the border of the property and place them in some elegant way and it will be easier for you to place a fence to divide your property.

@aboulderlifeoffgrid one question, please. What are your plans for the boulders? I do like how yall have circled the trees with the smaller rocks.
@aboulderlifeoffgrid2 жыл бұрын
We plan to use them to continue our rock walls along our driveway.

Great idea and possibly your front fence line
@tweetiepooh20012 жыл бұрын
Have you thought about putting the rocks/boulders around your property line? Natural fence. That way you won't run across the same rock more than once..lol. Might even help with natural predators too. Nice vids. Many prayers and love for you all.

Yep, we'll dig our foundation! The backhoe was definitely a useful investment.

Silly question but I am sure plenty of people are wondering about it.....only 9:46 in so far..maybe you address it later in the video.....but would it not have been easier to move the trailer over next to the shed? ....even with pouring new footers for the extension? Seems like it would have taken a lot less time than the mile long trench!!!
@aboulderlifeoffgrid2 жыл бұрын
The plan was to have the shop where the trailer is, but we very recently changed our minds because then the shop would cast a shadow over the solar array. So in order to save most of our trees we're keeping the trailer where it is. It doesn't make sense but that's how it's going to be. Thanks for the question. 👍 Take care.

Man that was a lot of work he's definitely got bowlers on your property. Do you already have your well in I can't remember seeing a video on that? If you don't have the well in it's going to be very expensive growing through all that rock wishing you the best of luck what you done so far looks great.
@aboulderlifeoffgrid2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! No well. The cost is too much. Thanks for watching.

@@aboulderlifeoffgrid yes with all that bedrock you seem to have on your property he would probably be looking at 50 to 60,000 easy. From the pictures I've seen it looks like your property either is on or very near what is referred to as Concho lake. Lucky for me I'm over off of Old Hunt road about 14 to 18 miles from you as a crow flies I don't have nearly the rocks are boulders that you have. I may have some deeper down I went about 15 ft down for my stuff to tank and didn't run into anything and my wall is 650 ft and it was a relatively easy drill even so it was still 14,000. Wishing you guys the best of luck I really enjoy watching your progress and I love the helpfulness of all your kids. Stay warm safe I look forward to seeing your next video

Interesting geology where you're at! Is it some kind of limestone or what? I have lots of granite where I'm at and I unearth occasional boulders, but nothing like what you're dealing with. I'm planning to use my boulders to construct a rock garden, but we'll see how that goes after I'm done clearing brush, etc.
@aboulderlifeoffgrid2 жыл бұрын
I think they call it malapie. And the white stuff is something like lime and basalt. Thanks for the comment.
