It is hard to imagine a more idyllic setting than the tiny seaside village of Montecito. One of the nation's wealthiest communities, it communicates its grandeur with understated elegance and sublime sophistication. It is certainly an A-list locale without an oversized attitude.
With approximately 10,000 residents and 3,000 households, Montecito retains much of its original charm but with the niceties of a contemporary, stylish community. Just east of Santa Barbara, the area is nestled between the sea and the picturesque foothills known as the Santa Ynez Mountain Range. This natural boundary leaves no room for growth or urban sprawl, sustaining high property values and a thriving community. Architectural styles vary, offering something for everyone-picture-book cottages, elegant Italian villas, oceanfront estates and most everything in-between. Montecito presents discreet, tree-lined lanes, leading both to its grand estates and its bucolic hiking trails.
For families, Montecito offers two exceptional public schools and an array of private school options. Exemplary weather (temperatures between sixty five and seventy five degrees nearly year round) allows for abundant outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, horseback riding and surfing twelve months a year!
Coast Village Road offers premiere shopping and dining, with everything from traditional Italian trattorias to authentic Mexican cantinas. Shoppers will enjoy the contemporary clothing boutiques, vintage shops and classic antique stores, most within walking distance of each other. Butterfly Beach, with its white sand and relaxing ocean breezes is perfect for strolling, swimming, lounging or dog walking. The ideal location to call "home," pastoral Montecito is ever pristine and always waiting.
Visit us at www.montecito-r... to see the grand Montecito estates and homes we are offering.

Montecito is a dream land. Moved there in 2007 with hopes of a house and starting my family. It left me broke and unable to live a basic life. If you move there you better have a fat bank account and work from home, becasue there is no where to earn money there. Even the rich are land poor.

If you are from switzerland then you need to have millions. Shouldn't be to hard for you to amass from that country. Get yourself a property in Zurich and Geneva, rent them out for 10 years and then sale them.

Homes there are up in the multi millions. It would take a million dollar a year income to afford to live there. Yet, not everyone in Montecito is a movie star. Where are they getting these million dollar a year jobs in Santa Barbara? I never see these positions advertised. I'd like to get one of those jobs. Where do you apply?
@ms.mojo_risin

the horrible mudslide left many people dead and many more homeless. and with the wildfires. however when you wrote your comment 4 years ago, I would ask the same question all the time and I still do. where the F do people get all this money? I see people driving brand new cars loaded with everything possible from the ground up from the inside out and homes that to me I just don't know how they can afford them or the things in them. I live on the east coast and the West Coast of Florida. one of my favorite homes is owned by a doctor here in my county and he invited a film crew into his home and he explained why he built his home how he builds his home and Through the Years of traveling how he accomplished his goals and places he visited, he has an eclectic and diverse collection of things and artifacts in his home that go together beautifully as beautiful as his home. but there are so many large million-dollar homes multimillion-dollar homes and just like you said there isn't a job out there advertised that can sustain a home or a lifestyle like the ones we see so many of. strange. I think it's strange. you gotta be crooked? 🙄 😒 at least some of 'em?... 🤔 😞 🙃

Jake Stimson I'm sorry.. I know I'm going to sound like I'm this horrible person but one of my worst pet peeves is when people use the word " an " inappropriately . there is no letter " n "before a consonant . A second home... can't you hear the difference..? If it was a word that started with the letter A , E I , O ,U .. in other words of vowels then yes you would say " an". For example an elegant home Or an aerie and spacious home or an Italian style home , An older home , An unusual home . I know I must sound like a real pain in the butt and likewise it drives me nuts when people say "a" when they should be staying "an " for example they might say a older home or a unusual home ... and it sounds horrible to listen to such an abuse of English language. All I can tell you is I don't know why this irritates me so much but it really does almost more than any other language abuse I can think of except for when people say could " of " instead of could 've.. which is actually could " have " not could of and not should of . Sorry I just had to say something

Yes I guess I'm just like you because I can't stand it when people do that and say things like "an second home " .

People hear "California" and they think of two places: Los Angeles and San Francisco. These are two tiny dots on a gigantic state. California has the 5th largest economy in the world. Not the U.S. but the world. There are hundreds of cities and towns and villages, most of them rural and agrarian. There is a lot to California besides L.A. and S.F.
