Because so many guitarists said me "Is it broken? Ha ha ha!", I gave this title to the video. Oud keeps the angled pegbox since 5000 years! So it must have a significant anvantage for the instrument.
Music for Spirit - Naochika おしゃべり動画はもっと見てみたいです! 特にリュート ウードはギターだけ弾く人達にとっても興味深いですし、それをKZbinで発信している人はまだごくわずかなのでもっと見たいです!

I think one of the most interesting and useful videos on YT. Many thanks to sharing with us your experience and moods. Me, as musician, find the mixing culture the key to open our soul to infinite methods of playing. Doesn't matter if you are a Master or a Novice...music is the expression of our soul and technique helps only to express it in the better way possible. The hypnotic sound of the lute is a gate between the earth and the sky . Many compliments once again Naochika.

So, the configuration of the guitar head allows that tone to ring the same for 100s of years from a guitarist from the past? So enlightening to think.

OK! I can’t believe it! It is made by the same oud maker I had my eye on. I am thrilled to see this video. Thank you very much! ❤️

I wonder why guitar tuners are not angled like that too if it keeps them in tune better
@NaoSogabe3 жыл бұрын
I have no specific explanation about this... But really meny guitarists laughed about lute and oud "Is it broken, ha ha ha!". It seemed to be considered the angled head as "uncool" for most of the guitarists...

Part of the reason may be because the guitar did not evolve directly from the oud/lute... it's development is from the earlier Renaissance guitar/Baroque guitar/vihuela (not the central/South American vihuela, however). Those earlier instruments, in fact, do have a headstock that is much more angled than a modern guitar. Modern tuners are strong enough that they don't require the "engineering" to help keep things in tune.
