Have you ever seen pictures of South Korean Commandos wearing 44 Leopard? They even left the SS sleeve eagles on the blouses! Another fun fact- Palm camo was originally called Tiger Pattern by German SS troops

Holy based. I just want to say my two cents since I use this camouflage too, Kurmaz gear makes Crye G3 replicas in the sateen DoT 44 varient that "at the front" uses for the modern high speed people out there. Garand thumb coined the term "Forbidden Crye" or "Verboten Crye" and I can attest to the quality and the pattern, it is 5 color but more brown than chinese replicas, with no bright green, more flat and drab and when used often and washes it turns to this grey brown mess that is actually perfect with leaves and tree bark in all seasons. In my mountainous area it works year round, as fallen trees, dead leaves, and such are just as brown and grey as the winter, but also in fall and winter is virtually impossible to beat. Multicam sticks out like a sore thumb and makes people easy to identify even at long ranges. There is very little tan here, only grass/wheat fields all shades of brown, grey, red, green. Maybe the original "sumpftarn" would be close in effect, but most reproductions of it are BGS and not nearly as good, and the sumpftarn isnt as good year round. I use dot 44 for hunting, hiking, training. The best thing about it, no one knows what it is, but the people that do are almost always on your team, so to speak. 😂 It is also suprisingly very effective in semi-rural, semi-urban areas where lots of red brick is still prevelent. The downside to sateen version is that it is heavy almost like duck canvas or jeans, but also doesnt rip up like cotton when going throw briars and brambles and such. In summer use good field craft and add a little natural vegetation or scrim and its a perfectly good base. Side by side in the woods flecktarn can seem close in the sun, but once you move it is a big dark shadow. I have researched the camo a lot, and came to the conclusion it was probably the best multi-season, multi-enviroment camouflage ever created, multicam no exception. At the end of the day, the eye is drawn to movement more than anything, almost any camouflage can work in place, but some high touted options are almost laughable in the enviroments they are used. If you ever do mil-sim or airsoft with people its great seeing all the multicam spam, they glow in the underbrush and dense woods where dot 44 is invisible.

Yes, pea is the after war Name for it and Leopard was the Name German soldiers gave it before war endet. Platanentarn for example was called Tiger Camouflage by German soldiers! Thanks for watching, GR
