This kind of drama is practically embedded in the streaming ecosystem, but it ultimately boils down to human nature. Refusing to apologize often stems from ego-a universal aspect of human interaction. Whether it’s in the workplace, relationships, or any other context, when people see through the facade and recognize insincerity or moral posturing, they will call it out. Ego-driven behavior may be common, but it rarely goes unchecked in the long run.

Pirate 100% did this to himself. He always hyped himself up to being the smartest and the most righteous person in the room. His interview with DrK (HealthyGamer) pretty much made him seem like mentally he's completely untouchable. He's quickly become one of those internet father figures to plenty of young guys, probably some girls as well and people really look up to him. He set the bar so goddamn high for himself. And he runs a goddamn animal rescue charity that largely depends on his reputation for its funding. That's why it's so bewildering that he would ruin his reputation over something so trivial and make himself look like a complete tool for no good reason whatsoever. These are actions of clueless idiot so I'd wager that plenty of people harassing him are his former fans who really looked up to him and now feel bamboozled when they find out he he's nowhere near as smart or kind as he claims to be. I don't think most people care about what happened in the game or about the apology or lack of it. They care about guy they thought was gigachad turning out to be a loser. They care about guy who was always holier than thou actually being a lying asshole. But of course none of this justifies any harassment, it just means plenty of people hounding him became way too parasocial for their own good. I hope they learn that if someone keeps telling how awesome they are that's probably not the case.

Exactly this. League for some reason has gotten a reputation where it's supposed to be very toxic. I'm willing to bet my life savings on this but WoW players are much more toxic. Some WoW players are going into lenghts into type out a whole paragraph to players (all slurs etc) and then block them. Many even do it on several characters and proceedes to report them afterwards. Maybe i'm not old enough to understand the logic but i atleast don't become all toxic if dungeon, raid etc doesn't go my way. I just let it go. I'm also doing very high m+ with a premade group and the 5 of us are very chill and doesn't care if a key gets depleted. In this situation, the overwhelming majority against Pirate's deflections are just talking about common sense. Has nothing to do with "bending the knee". On the internet, bending the knee typically occurs when an extreme group of very FEW people tries to pressure someone with emotional outbursts rather than logical statements. It's almost never what the majority of people are expressing on the opinion. Tyler just doesn't want any more of it to keep going. Thor might deserve the ass kicking he's getting right now, but it doesn't make him a bad person who should forever be remembered for a moment of weakness. It's based on what Thor takes away from the situation and what he learns. If he learns nothing, well... then he's doomed to make the same mistake eventually again.

If it was Snupy or Sara doing it, understandable. But Snupy & Sara aren't jumping into Asmon's chat & getting farmed & ragebaited - while representing the guild - over what ultimately accounts to petty drama over people wasting their time in hardcore & creating an entirely new facet of the issue to draw attention to. the worst part of this is it makes the way that yamato acted after seem legit and justified when in reality he acted like a damn muppet and speaks to people like shit. also the only bit of entertainment this years only fangs cos its full of a bunch of lame arse streamers that have no entertainment factor has now been banned. last year was way better until this point this prate situation made it relevant and you could have had a whole arc of everyone bullying him and him redeeming himself at some point but yeah just ban him lol.

Yamato did not do any cc either and has a notorious history. Pirate was targeted for working with "problematic" people.

Rogues don’t have nearly as much cc as mages do, and their cc is usually conditional. They have to be stealthed to sap, and then have to be facing the front to gouge, but also Yamato owned up to misplaying so who cares!

I will say, if he keeps getting people harassing him about it that's ridiculous. He made a mistake as a human and let's be honest. It's not evil or something like other content creators have done where they could be seen as monsters. Are we really trying to bring someone down, and affect their livelihood because they didn't say "sorry" from running in a, let's be honest, botched raid. It's ridiculous. As a guild, sure go ahead and ban him. Your guild your rules but I feel like even calling it drama is childish. People just screaming at him to say sorry and being butthurt he's like "no".
@CallMeQuacker13 күн бұрын
Another thing I kinda thought about. This is pure speculation but with how upset Yamato was, I feel he could easily be the type to rant and rave to the rest of the guild MAKING more people uncomfortable. This is pure speculation tho so it's possible I'm completely wrong Also I'll note he's already in "drama" because he talked about ashes of creation with asmongold and it seems people don't have any drama of the week so they are overinflating this whole situation

Has Tyler seen the disgusting group think that happened afterwards? Half the people he is talking to in this clip were in the call talking crap iirc. They are just a bunch of bullies. I lost a lot of respect for anyone in that call, especially Summit.

@@t0nje as a reactive statement after being barraged with death threats from community xyz to say "I'll report the behavior" isn't unreasonable! Even then it wouldn't be him making the ban call. Reporting someone in league also isn't the same as banning them.
@t0nje12 күн бұрын
@leotheking1000 he made reports to Twitch how is league relevant????? Streamers are not the ones sending "death threats", its random people online, streamers are not responsible for what their viewers do.
@leotheking100012 күн бұрын
@t0nje of course streamers can fuel the viewers and bear responsibility. League is an example so that even your slow head has a chance to get it but it seems to be a bit too far behind in development stages. If the streamers didn't do anything over the line there also is no fault in reporting them & twitch saying "well they didn't do anything"? Like, what's the crime here lol

It's more interesting to me that we now have a sort of "set list" of negative things that can be done to content creators in the space (big or small), mostly in terms of quantity rather than quality of the offense, and have it not be taken seriously by others because it can be brushed off as "fake", "no evidence" or "get used to it". This may have lasted around 4 days for PirateSoftware but the consequences of it(meaning the information that has been extracted as viable tactics) for other creators in the future can maybe go on for a lot longer. A simple question would be: how long would it take for people(CCs and viewers) to completely disregard, say a "death threat", only for it to one day actually happen? Wasn't there a streamer who got put under by a swatting incident? We live in troubled times.

We already had the Camilla incident where a 'fan' sent her a gift with a tracker in it and showed up at her place. So like swatting? Nah I'd be more worried about someone doing that. The reason why he stopped the blizzard was because he got the slow applied … and he could have taken boss aggro that would have 1 shot him. This whole thing is stupid. 1) “RUN RUN RUN” - pirate ran and if everyone else followed the order . Would have been fine. 2) same guy that called RUN RUN RUN “this is salvageable” half way to the portal. - which made the healer die and the silly Druid pull a fourth pack (first pack actual pull, 2nd accidental, 3rd the boss , and fourth on the way to the portal via dum dum Druid). And healer dies from aggro pull because everyone thinking something salvageable that actually isn’t. 3) the rogue calling shit with one foot out the door while just doing absolutely nothing . If shit went down he’s out just as hard as pirate . And if the 3 struggling to win begin to win the salvage , rogue would swoop in thinking he the smart god caller . The rogue is absolute shit leader. Well there we go .
