After meeting you personally at your office, the rest of the application process was pretty much straight forward, in my case. Thank you Katherine for your efforts and advice. I do agree with the others, I should have viewed your videos much earlier to understand all the related issues.

Thanks for all your help . Could you please tell me how British pensions ( National Insurance and Military pension ) effect Australian Pensions ?
@AboutRetirementTV Жыл бұрын
HI Shandon, if yo receive the British pension that is an income stream only and you cannot make any lumpsum withdrawals,, it would be counted under the Income Test only dollar for dollar.

You are such a gem Katherine, your videos are incredible. Question: What does a self employed person need to confirm to Centrelink when retirement will/has commenced? As wage/salary person a letter from employer suffices but for a working director? Guess I am not the only one in that situation? Thanks
@AboutRetirementTV2 жыл бұрын
Hi Hardy, thank you for the compliment 😀. What exactly do you wish to apply for via Centrelink?

@@AboutRetirementTV I am in the process of applying for the age pension. As working director my company will within days/weeks cease to exist (voluntarily) - as of end December (aged 66 1/2) no wage/no salary/no directors fees etc. How do I show that I don't have any income? Thanks for your help!

Hi Katherine ,could you answer me a question that i can't seem to get a answer to. I have a low income health care card,my wife doesn't work and I have just retired and I'm 65. If i put a amount of my super into a pension fund and leave some in the accumulation fund, does centrelink use only the amount in the pension fund for deeming or use both balances as i want to work out my income to keep the low income card ,hope you can help Thank you
@AboutRetirementTV Жыл бұрын
Whatever stays in your super is not counted, please watch my next week video and you will get your full answer Rod 😀

I believe you can apply for an aged pension up to 6 months prior to retire. Brent

Does her current FY salary income level will affecting my pensions application in Feb 2024... kindly advise when you can thanks

I'll realy appreciate your comment about my case in regards of retirement pension. I am a retired 74 years old, working casual / partime and currently receiving a pension from a Super Annuation Fund, my question is, can I still be able to apply for pension from Centrelink? Best regards
@AboutRetirementTV6 ай бұрын
you could be, but it depends on the value of your pension, and value of all other assets you have, or any other income you might be receiving.

Katherine hi, at the moment i am retired and receive most of my australian centrelink pension but not all because i receive a small uk pension. Now when i have been here 35 yrs which will be in 18 months time and qualify for a full australian pension, will i receive it in full or will it be still be a percentage because of my small uk pension.
@AboutRetirementTV Жыл бұрын
That I cannot tell, as I don't know all your other assets, but your UK pension will still be fully counted dollar for dollar under the Income Test, that treatment will not change

I’m 65 years old last September.If I file early retirement to my employer will I get all benefits like severance pay and annual leave?If so still I have to pay tax on it.Thanks
@AboutRetirementTV Жыл бұрын
That will go back to your work agreement and years worked for the employer, tax most certainly is payable at that time, but your HR should provide you with details of your full payout and tax

Thanks for the video. Our pension system is a doubled sword, one for the asset and one for the income. Any of the limits is enough to chop your dream of having a pension. Plan ahead and get financial adviser or you’ll end up bumping your head in wall out of stupidity, sorry I mean frustration.
