NYC fun fact: The NYC Subway may not be the busiest nor the largest subway in the world, but it IS the system with the most stations! The NYC Subway system currently has 472 stations in total, with more being planned. When it comes to length, the system contains 248 miles (399 km) of routes, translating into 665 miles (1,070 km) of revenue track and a total of 850 miles (1,370 km) including non-revenue trackage. 25 of the subway's 28 routes go through Manhattan, except the Rockaway Park and Franklin Ave Shuttles and the G.

"Only in New York" I grew up in NYC and totally identify with this clip's title. Here are two of my favourite memories. 1- Columbus Circle water fountain, in the middle of a hot NY summer. As I pass the circle on a bus heading uptown, I happen to see a tramp sat in the middle of the fountain holding an umbrella and keeping cool with a huge grin. 🤣 2- I was walking down the street in Midtown, on the West Side. As I'm walking towards the corner, I notice a camel and a donkey turn the corner, being lead by two men. They reached a building with quite high doors, opened them and the animals disappeared behind the doors. It struck me that if anyone turned the corner after they went indoors, no one would guess there was a camel and donkey behind a set of doors on that street. And, the latter experience summed NYC up for me. Basically, NY can house anything and everything behind its doors. Only in New York.

My dad was a truck driver in NYC from the 70's to the 90's. He would tell me all sorts of stories about exhibitionist women in open convertibles that would drive around with thier skirts up, no panties, and "play" with themselves! Some would flash you their "titties" just for a honk back. One time, one stupid person tore off an entrance ramp at high speed, severly cut off a truck and two cars to get into the fast lane. A short way up the highway, the traffic stopped. The driver from the truck that was cut off got out of his rig with baseball bat, walked calmly over to that car, and proceeded to smash every window and light on the car. Then casually got back in his rig. The person driving just sat there frozen. One time my dad honked his horn at a regular (I guess) looking lady - beauty is in the eye of the beholder. She stopped right in the middle of the crosswalk, walked towards my dad's rig and said with a big smile, "Thank you, You made my day!" Only in New York City.
