Hi Jessica, I was doing the similar project but cloud was not satisfactory. Got the points. Heard and tried to memorise every bit of your saying. Thank you so much. Welcome to England. I wish if I could have joined. So nice to know about your teenage adventure. Please continue. Thanks again.

I hate that I missed the live show 😔. But watching you paint is always a pleasure and an inspiration. Sometimes I just can’t wait to get into my studio after getting so many ideas from you. So many studies to do. Thanks for sharing of your time and talents.

Beautiful painting Jessica. I was brought up on watching Bob Ross as a kid and thought his way is the only way. Although I love him to this day it's refreshing to see your small strokes and your peices of paint showing an intentional movement of the brush. I've had a lot of success painting this way. Thanks so much for this video!

Wonderful, He was great especially for getting so many people in front of the canvas, making it seem safe and non-intimidating. Thanks again!

I've loved your work and approach for a long time , but like to see your finished work front and centre when you finish , as occasionally you finish with your picture at an angle and it sometimes has a shine or shadow on the surface, square on at the finish would be lovely , thanks Jessica your lovely .

I have a really big question for you how are you traveling with your paint is their a way to put that in your luggage for the oil and the gamsol not too leak everywhere on your clothing? Thank you I love your painting by the way.😀
@JessicaHenry5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I put everything in ziplock baggies. You can also wrap tape around the neck of the bottle or tube. For bottles, open them, put a small piece of plastic over the mouth and return the lid, then you can tape the lid around the neck and place them in ziplock baggies. Just an FYI, you can't fly with gamsol and they say linseed oil, too. I use safflower oil when I travel because it has a lower flash point.

@@JessicaHenry i have realy messed uo one of my canvis,i wanted to remove some dry paint, i used a palet knife,and went through my canvis,also took paint off so you can see the actual canvis,the strands ,is there anything i can do apart from throwing it away,also ive seen some paintings that you pour the paint on then when dry you paint over it with clear varnish,(very thick) it ends up looking like glass,can you please tell me what the best varnish to use,thank you

I LOVE how easily your paints spread onto this canvas. Can you please tell me what brand or kind of canvas this is? I watched your video where you explained the difference in cotton & linen & how you have to scrub to make the paint settle into the weave of a cotton canvas. So I'm assuming this is oil primed linen but is it a canvas board, stretched canvas or canvas on masonite? Can it be purchased as it is or did you prepare & stretch it? I know this sounds like a lot of questions but a simple brand name & type is what I'm hoping you can give me.😊 It's obvious that you get a lot of enjoyment from helping others learn how to paint. That's one of the reasons you're so good at it. So thank you for sharing all you do. 😊
@JessicaHenry5 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, I do really enjoy what I do! This is a linen canvas. I do stretch them sometimes, or purchase them ready to go other times, pre-stretched. Sometimes I'll stretch them raw and then prime them myself if I'm feeling really ambitious. Other times, I will simply gesso a Masonite board. If you want to do it your self the best linen is Claussens, to purchase pre-stretched linen canvases, Frederix makes a great one. Masterpiece has some really nice linen panels, too.

@@JessicaHenry I don't know how you find time for all you do. Your response is greatly appreciated & was super helpful. I never knew the painting surface made such a difference until I began watching you so thank you again for directing me in that department. All the best for your workshop in France! I would def be there if it were at all possible. Hopefully you'll be able to post some of the things y'all do while there.😊

Hi Jessica I find you and your paintings a real inspiration, the only problem is your sound system as you turn your head the the volume fades, I think maybe a clip on microphone would help , I'm writing from England the sound has a long way to travel lol 😂

Just Linseed oil. Rarely I use a Glakyd light from Gamblin. I like it's little bit of shine and instead of thinning the paint like oil, it gives it just a bit of body.

@@JessicaHenry I changed over to daylight bulbs..they are great. Wal-Mart has Great Value brand LED daylight bulbs that last 18 years, if we can believe that!!! But they are fantastic and didn't put me in the poor house. They are 800 lumens and 5000 K (Daylight). Try a couple, I'm sure you will like them. It is like having north light in a bulb. By the way, I'm from Northport LI NY and loved your videos of my home town. I'm 72 now, but in the early 60s on that beach you painted we had a lot of beach parties and all of us kids thought it was haunted by a monster LOL. I learn a lot from your videos....keep them coming.

Jessica Henry try using "Shop Towels," magnificent... Enjoy your videos... Also...try Gamblin solvent free gel...or liquid..brush some..little on canvas...use shop towel to take excess off...this is used instead of solvents..as you did in this piece... It's Good for "sky," area only...or water...with large canvas...helps blend the sky..can mix it with titanium white and apply same way...again for sky area...the gel is great for plein air..it can stay on palette like the paints...no liquid mess...non flammable..non toxic..
