I'm 36 yo. I began to listen to trance in 1997 while it was that supposed thing called "white man crazy music where you need to do drugs to feel good". I never ever did drugs at that time. It's 2019, I'm still listening to this music genre with the same passion than at it's beginning, still not doing drugs. One thing has changed: I am amazed the spread that this genre made in 22years. People coming from every corner of the world, unifying the planet under one religion, one passion, one drug: TRANCE MUSIC. Beautiful!

46 now, had a twist for synth and electronic music in general from eighties so naturally catched trance genre too. Never did drugs and have no wish to do that in future. Good trance music is good by itself, see no reason to mix it with chemicals. I understand that drug dealers make obscene amounts of money from public in entertainment places though. And it started a way earlier than electronic music appeared on scene. "white man crazy music" - I believe it is about rave which appeared several years earlier. At least in my city rave parties in begin of nineties definitely had a second name - a testing ground of synth drugs. Around time when trance came out, drug era in clubs already turned to end. At least trance wasn't a catchphrase for doing drugs.

Same here Trancexx, I am 50 and the early days were the absolute best, couldn't get into that whole grunge shit nor the drug scene of this genre, so I transitioned to trance trip hop etc of the 90s and man the shows back then were amazing, but like wine they are getting better with age. I still go to these deals when time allows the people you meet are amazing, they come from all over the world, I am most definitely going to see these guys when they hit here in Los Angeles, and on a wild whim I found out PVD is coming nearby next week (if you consider Portland, Or. nearby LOL) so I am going to that as well.) And I totally agree with you.... the one drug is TRANCE!

I was having one of the worst weeks of my life until this event came along. The first six minutes of this set completely reset every bad emotion, every negative thought, and it let me breathe. Everything was okay. I remember how hard I cried that night. Tears of joy, not sorrow. Trance music, regardless the flavor really is a force to be reckoned with.

This is so true. I did not have any idea what trance was all about until I let the rhythm move me, not just my body dancing and listening but in being there and experiencing it. It is access to unlimited joy. I have mentioned to others that it is as if your amygdala had been turned into a dopamine dripping prostate gland that only stops pumping when the volume is low. There is a 1-10 scale for pain and a 1-10 for joy as well. Be advised. Family and home is now THERE within and always with and in the trance. It is the force!
