I find the lyric "She is the golden one" to be particularly interesting in this song. One of the most famous purported uses of Alchemy was to turn useless materials into gold, effectively cheating physics. The man in the song cheats on the singer, creating a supposed love for this other woman where there was nothing. The parallels all make sense, I think it's a very clever theme for a song.

The best thing about this song is that it captures all of the pain without ever bringing up anger/blame/jealousy. It gets to the core of why it hurts while avoiding everything else. For anyone going thru a breakup and enjoys trance (and hopefully can dig psychedelic elements), I recommend "Stronger Together" by Eddie Bitar & Michele Adamson. Should hopefully help you to move on.
