Phenomenal song, very well done. I’ve never heard these guys before, to be honest I’ve been burnt out on the core scene for a while, minus bands like Boundaries and Knocked Loose who remember what hardcore is supposed to sound like. I love the atmosphere, the space, the tension and release, I don’t consider these guys metalcore at all, they’re something else. Reminds me a lot of atmospheric black metal in places, then perhaps some post metal, drone type stuff, the dissonance is wonderful and welcome. I am so so happy there are ‘core’ bands like this that are actually taking the genre in new and exciting directions.

The lyrics hit me in an extremely personally way, even if I'm misinterpreting them, I'd love to know what inspired you to write this. If it's not about someone you love passing away I would be surprised. The "honey section" hit me especially hard; even when I allow myself to enjoy something nice, when the distraction is over I feel her absence (if not, even more with the final drip reminding me of that good thing coming to an end). The chemical downpour part speaks for itself. I've been a fan of yourself since Sowers, so grateful you guys are still doing your thing and improving your craft.

I apologise for taking so long to reply to this, but the words were inspired by an anecdotal story I found somewhere (I no longer remember) in which a man suffering from what is known as 'Capgras Delusion' was discussing how he kept losing track of his wife's identity. He spoke about how devastating it is to feel someone you love become someone you no longer know, despite being transitorily aware that this was of his minds own making. Really hit me and I guess I just ran with the concept. I'm so humbled and glad to hear that it has resonated with you personally. I hope that you continue to find your own ways to interpret music and feel close to it.
