Tarun, have only heard about Exposure from you and a few others in the hobby. I pressed the trigger on a 2510 based on your reviews. Boy o boy. I have not heard a more sweeter and musical amp in my setup. I drive KLH Model 5's, Denafrips Ares 2 feeding the Amp. I have the Wilsenton R8 as well with tube upgrades. I had the Unison Research Secondo Amp. Out of all these, Exposure 2510 hits a sweet spot in a way that I was simply not expecting. Thank you..thank you..I am so damn pleased.

I'm considering a Exposure 2510 and Denafrips Ares 2 pairing - and I'm not sure I'll get the opportunity to audition before I buy (cardinal sin, I know!). One thing I'm not clear on though is how to add balance and tone control. I'm not certain it will be needed, but something I'd like to understand how to achieve with this pairing. Any thoughts/advice? Thanks 😊

In all other aspects it sounds divine with the focals 906. Very balanced and detailed has plenty of capabilities depending on the source as well. Plannar P3 w/ ortofone bronze give vast musical precision w/ 2510 at this range. An entry-level audiophile amplifier to own for many, many years.

Taron thanks for going out on a bit of a limb in reviewing a current Exposure amplifier designed by Tony Brady. Exposure amps were designed by John Farlowe whose highly musical circuit designs where one of the best in the industry. Rumors has it that JF worked on the amps for Pink Floyd. My Epos Es 22 loudspeakers are connected to an Exposure 14/9 pre amp and use to be powered by an Exposure Dual IV regulated amp. Last year I decided to purchase Exposure’s 5010 mono blocks to power the Epos Es 22 loudspeakers. The relatively newly designed Exposure 5010 mono block amps would place a smile on John Farlowe. Dynamic, rhythmic drive, taunt palpable bass, palpable midrange. The dynamics of the 5010 amps will at time startle me! Goose- bumps heaven! Thanks for introducing this musical company to those who have not heard of Exposure. Exposure has not missed a beat! Thanks Taron! BTW my current reference system is Epos Es 22 loudspeakers,14/9 Exposure pre amp, Exposure’s current 5010 Mono Amps, two Rel S/5 subwoofers, linn lp-12 turntable, and room corrected with linn akurate DSM player.

Great review. You've got to love the simplicity of the inner workings of the Exposure, in complete contrast to the Hegel H95 where they are struggling to fit everything in seemingly. Probably not a fair comparison with all the extras that the Hegel has, but for pure sound less is more I reckon. I liken it to the approach and ideology of NVA amps which sound superb too. I'm listening to one right now (an ELO playlist on Qobuz to be exact 😊), and I can't argue. It sounds glorious to me. Have you had any good synergy with cheaper speakers then the ATC's? I was thinking of trying Dynaudio. The ATC's are really up there in price, even used. If you can even find them. Here in the States they're not exactly the most popular brand, unfortunately. That's part of why I jumped on this Exposure amp. It was being sold by someone I knew I could trust, and at less then half of retail. I wasn't even amp shopping at the time, but wasn't going to let the opportunity to try out the Exposure brand in such a promising situation just pass by like that. And I'm glad I grabbed it. It actually works good with all the speakers I've tried so far (Triangle Bro3, Denton 80th, Buchardt S300's), but I'm looking at a buying a really nice pair, like maybe Dynaudio Evoke, or Special Forty. And adding a sub. Because of my room, and listening situation. I need to go small speakers, and subs really. Which means the ATC would actually be perfect, but the prices are just too much for me. The 19's are 4 grand here in the States! I can get the Dynaudio Special Forties for $2500 if I'm patient. And to me. They seem like a lot more speaker, as they're using parts from Dynaudio's upper lines. That cost a lot more money. In fact one reviewer said he felt they were worth twice as much in his opinion. And he definitely wasn't a biased reviewer. He bought them himself, and is a good guy I feel. Steve Huff is his name I think.

I don't have a dealer near me, and can't afford to buy every speaker in my range, and pay to send them back. There must have been other speakers besides ATC that sounded good to you on this amp. So far every speaker I've tried sounds pretty good actually. But like I said. I'm looking to step up my game.

Really excellent review, as always! Your having had direct engineering experience with Exposure...gives a deeper meaning to your reviews on this and any other amp on many levels. Such a brilliant yet simple design. When checking these out, Creek integrateds tended to show up having similar design approaches - but more from the modular ad-on standpoint as you mentioned the earlier Exposures offered. I ended up with a used creek Evolution 50a, and what you described of this Exposure kind of describes the Evolution. But I’m sure both companies have since taken some departures since 2012 (age of my Creek...which I love due to its seemingly pure to signal design). Curious of your impressions on the Creek products, so few reviews out there for them!

Great review as always! This is my favourite Audio review channel. I like that you offer a comparison with similarly priced alternative. Most reviewers don't provide this context. It would have been interesting if you went into more detail into comparing your old Pre/Power Exposure set with this new product. Perhaps that can be a follow up video :) As with all things on the internet, opinions are extremely divided, some Exposure fans love the older (Farlowe) era, while others prefer the modern iterations. I have always wanted to get Exposure, but need to scroll through all auction/classifieds for used options, as I cannot afford them brand new and they are difficult to find in my country. I am saving up for my dream setup - an Exposure Power Amplifier with a Tube Pre-amplifer

@@abritishaudiophile7314 Thank you very much for replying. Yes indeed, if you get a chance to review the Pre+Mono combination that would be great, and I suppose it would be a fairer comparison than the 2510. On a separate note - I didn't realise that the preamplifier section on the 2510 was passive. So hypothetically, if your source (DAC etc) has a volume control - could you get one of the Exposure power Amplifiers (2010 power amplifier for example) and get the same result?

Hi Keith, the short answer is yes. Most modern DACs have a fairly decent digital volume control. You have to exercise a little care with gain and impedance matching. Looking at the specs, the 2010 power amp has 14k input impedance and 24dB gain. It should work with most solid state DACs but I would avoid tube DACs just to be safe 😊👍

Hey Tarun, now you're talking! I landed on Musical Fidelity but it could so easily have been Exposure. This is definitely my kind of amp, which I'm sure is no surprise to you! I'm somewhat dubious about the choice of speaker connectors, however, aside from that I love the spec. Less is more in my book, so happy to see no DAC or streamer built in. I especially love those Elna Silmic caps, which are in no small part responsible for the excellence in sound quality. Great stuff and thanks for the hard work. All the best, Mark.

I think it's so cool that you have found a pair of speakers that you really enjoy (in your Response one SC) that are from the 90s and you've had for a long time. I also have some speakers that I truly enjoy from the '90s in My Mirage MRM-1. Not my first choice and brands in Mirage but these are a fairly traditional design for Mirage in just being two-way bookies that are 35lbs/16kg each and I'm terrified to let them go in case anything newer doesn't sound as good! I really wish I didn't have this itch to upgrade but, Ive got a good deal on so on some Revel M126be. Which retail for twice as much as the MRM-1 did.

I bought this amplifier based upon a stereophile review years ago which seemed too good to be true at this price point. It really is a very good amp and I ended up selling my Bryston 4B-ST because of it. I'm at a loss as to exactly what individual thing about this amplifier caused me to make that decision. It doesn't have the dynamics, grip and bass of the Bryston at all, but I simply enjoy listening to it more and it is the lowest wattage amp I have had in many decades but it has plenty of power. Really a special little amp that is a bit of a mystery.

Watching this review at work. Instantly tried that Ghost Rider-song out on Spotify and now cannot wait to get home and try it in my setup. If you remember me, I actually went to my local store and picked up a Hegel H95 for testing, after watching your review, although, I did not settle on buying it. I will explain: Currently I have in my setup a pair of very easy driven Triangle BOREA BR03s and a Marantz PM6006 amplifier. After watching your NAD C338 review, I felt like I had to get a "streamer" of sorts, since Spotify is my go-to music source (kinda stoked about the HIFI announcement!). The Hegel then had the Spotify Connect feature which I really liked a lot. But, audiowise, with my room, my setup, there wasn't THAT much of a difference between the Hegel and the Marantz. I tried several hours of music, different genres and was never as convinced as to buying it directly, which ultimately led to me returning the Hegel and instead I picked up the NA6006 Network streamer from Marantz. This device was, for me (since already owning the PM6006), less than half the price of the Hegel and brought me basically the same fidelity. Thank you Tarun, I find your reviews most comprehensive and enjoyable to watch. Also, I like your keen knowledge in both equipment as well as components within.

@@abritishaudiophile7314 Indeed. I am though, somewhat interested in trying these speakers (that I own) out with a more powerful amplifier, something around 100-150W, only because I've heard they only get better with more power even though they are quite easily driven at 90db... But that will be a thought for the future, as I am very pleased with how it sounds right now. ☺️✌🏼

@@abritishaudiophile7314 Hey, one thing just hit me, in Exposures larger model series, the 3010, there's a power amplifier called 3010S2 which delivers 110W/ch. Thank you for your detailed and thoughtful reviews. I enjoy when you share what it is you look for and the metrics you use in judging various kinds of audio equipment. I have continued to consider purchasing the Amphion Argon 1 based in large part on your review but also on other reviews and on the very wide sweet spot and ease of positioning that everyone describes. I hope to listen to them myself soon. In your review of that speaker you were very impressed with the overall tonality and synergy when combined with the Hegel H95. I'm curious whether in pairing with the Amphion Argon 1 you would now prefer the Exposure 2510 or the Hegel H95, having heard them both. I don't really need the features of the H95, but if that pairing with the Amphion Argon 1 is really special I would consider it. Thank you again!

Thank you Theodore. I have listened to both amps with Argon 1 and I felt the synergy was better with the H95 over the 2510. The 2510 is the better amp but requires a speaker with a fuller, more open midrange to show off it’s strengths 😊👍

Great vid, as always, Tarun! I'm a huge sucker for the minimalist approach in audio, so obviously I have a bit of a soft spot for Exposure - I got to listen to a 3010 at my HiFi dealer not long ago and was quite impressed, and a 3010 pre or 5010 pre might end up being part of my next system upgrade. On a different note: I'm a bit bamboozled by those speakers-with-the-needlessly-complicated-name being identical rather than mirror images - that's rather weird...

Hi Tarun, hearing you come back to the Exposure 2510 over the years as an important reference, I've begun thinking of purchasing one. I can't quite get my head around how to do it, though, for various reasons. Customs in Thailand can be very high, for example. I may purchase one next year when I hopefully go to Europe for a family member's wedding. What surprised me is that several dealers in the UK offer online or in-store purchasing, but the price to buy (or ship to an address) in the UK is something like 850 GBP, while sending to the US comes to around 615 GBP including shipping! Yet I don't know if there will be big customs duties or hassles on the US side. Exposure dealers in North America seem to be very few and far between, and the price is also on the high side there. Anyway. if I decide to follow through I'll figure out a way. I'm pretty happy with my system, but the idea of an upgrade is sometimes a bit tempting. I actually appreciate that you have a stable set of reference points that you're able to compare new equipment with in your reviews. I find it a good approach that helps define a field of possibilities for those of us looking to put together satisfying systems. Thanks for your efforts!
