It is not the definition that matters. It is the effect of the contradiction for eg surah 2 says very sweetly to each one his own religion and then as you go to Surah At Tauba chp 9 and you get frightened because the sweetness of Surah 2 has been changed, asking for death, stay in wait, ambush those who do not believe. I am only stating the sense not the exact script here. This is really what matters, not the definition at all. Yes, they are different chapters of the SAME book. Which one does one follow? Therefore a contradiction arises between a good thing and a hateful thing and this is what enables radicals to choose the hateful verses and nobody can blame them because they have taken it from the Quran.
