Hi Yngve! And what about the case when the ring is part of a half-axle (cannot be ordered separately). I have an S60 T5 2005. Will this regular ring fit as well? Thanks.
@grapsorz4 жыл бұрын
as far as i know the same part i used here fit some of the 850, 30, 70, 60, 70, 80 and 90 series as well as nissan 200SX. it looks to be a part of the shaft until you splitt it. the work can be done "on the car" i have not come over shafts that have it integrated . stil i have not worked a lot of other then 850 and 70 series cars.

I have Suzuki cultus 2010 aka GM GEO metro or Pontiac firefly. the steering vibrates on gravel and rocky off roads. i just recently repaired it's axle. the tires are fine. but i suspect it's inside the steering rod or box ( i don't know what to call it). the car also looses power and start vibrates then hits 500 in RPM when i turn on the lights at night and gets even bit lower like 400 or 300 when the Radiator Fan starts. but no problems on AC stays at 700 rpm and also no signs of overheating yet no signs of Radiator leakage.
@grapsorz6 жыл бұрын
is that the same as the Suzuki Swift? i dont know to much about those car's. that an engine is vibrating at 500 RPM and below is normal. what is not normal is that it goes so low. if you have an unbalance in a axle or a tire that will be felt thru the steering wheel. you might have knocked off a balancing wight on the rim. to look for a bad ball joint try to hold the hand over the ball as someone is rotating the will just enough to move the wheel ever so slightly (make sure you have good room where you have you hand's and that the one inside KNOW WHAT THEY R DOING!) the car must have full wight on the wheel to get a accurate feel. there should not be any slack in the ball.

"you can do this with the axle still in the car..." Well, only if you don't need to chisel the ring off like you did in the video. As we can see, you removed that axle from the car. Also, using the old tone ring to hammer the new one is a good idea.
@grapsorz4 жыл бұрын
no it's no problem to chisel it off. just put a stand under and hit it and it's off. i have done it on different car's.

That's no way to seat it, hitting the edges with a bloody 2lb hammer?

Absolutely right, I was horrified watching him bashing it with a heavy hammer ! using a piece of hardwood would prevent damage to the ring !!

actually, putting it on a hot plate and have a solder on it and then when the solder melts it is ok. about 200c. i think i was about 150 and it was a bit to cold as it dont "fall on" by itself.

I dont know why you didnt use the old ring to tap the new one on, saving the risk of damage to the new ring.
@grapsorz2 жыл бұрын
cracked.. i just need to heat it up a bit more "next time.. even tho.. it was not "hard taps" and it slipped on "okayish" ;) and stacking this rings even when new is not easy. if i where to do a lot of this i gues i had done a tool in a press and used that.
@lacydoodle104 жыл бұрын
Cringed.go get a heavy rubber mallet that hammer will damage that ring if you see it or not or at least get a block of wood to lay over the ring to keep from metal to metal contact when seating the ring

i did lock closely and there was no damage.. stil i agree with you ;) i made it a bit to cold or was to slow as i was filming. .
