Bravo! Excellent mnemonics that highlighted some potentially tested topics that could easily be overlooked in preparing. Thank you for the high volume of high quality content you produced in such a relatively short time, especially while maintaining a surgical resident's schedule. You are superhuman, keep up the great work.

"I found this really nerdy guy at my program" haha! Great introduction. Thanks Kevin and Chris for sharing your mnemonic pearls. I found the PNETs sketch very helpful. Keep 'em coming! :)

Few other good ways to remember stuff (that I use at least): "FENa is FUN" (F for FENa and UN for urinary Na) --> = If you write UNa (urinary sodium) first, the rest falls into place. You have to have both a urine and serum item on top and also on bottom. So if urine sodium is on top, plug in the opposite on top...SCr (the "opposite" items of urine and Cr) on top. Then the opposite of what you did not already write on the bottom (UCr x SNa). So just remember the first one on top is UNa, and the rest are just the others which you have not yet written. Hard to describe by typing but if you write out F = UNa, it all falls together. Thoracic outlet structures from anterior to posterior: I remember it goes: vessel, nerve, muscle, vessel, nerve muscle (subclavian vein, phrenic nerve, anterior scalene, subclavian artery, brachial plexus, middle scalene). Order of (some) steroids from LEAST to MOST potent: "Harry Potter, MD" = hydrocortisone < prednisone < methylprednisolone < dexamethasone Anterior and posterior vagal nerve branches: "AH, Political Correctness is Criminal!" Thus, the anterior vagus gives of the Hepatic branch (AH) and the posterior vagus gives off the Celiac branch (P and C). Criminal nerve comes from posterior, too! Cullen sign vs Gray-Turner vs Fox signs for pancreatitis: Cullen = Center (hemorrhage dissects to the center/umbilicus). Turner sign...turns the corner and goes to the flank. Fox sounds like "phalic" so it dissects to the inguinal/groin region. Thanks for the good review, guys! Hope these also help!

What great fun! Your professors and preceptors must really enjoy having you in their training program. Fortunately I'm already certified by three boards and don't really have to remember all of that any more, but I will finish watching later.

I returned and continued to enjoy your presentation. I see that you are now a practicing general surgeon in WA. Congratulations. That's a great achievement! I bet you aced the boards.

Heads up, the mnemonic at 18:00 indicates an increase in aldosterone for 11-beta-hydroxylase deficiency, but this is incorrect. There's actually a decrease in aldosterone. There's an increase in deoxycorticosterone, which is an aldosterone precursor and has a weak mineralocorticoid effect. Deoxycorticosterone never gets converted to aldosterone because that's the job of 11-beta-hydroxylase, which is deficient. I'm pretty new to the ABSITE world, but if they showed lab values with increased deoxycorticosterone and decreased aldosterone, this mnemonic might lead you astray.

How I remember the MEN syndromes: “A panel of pitbulls pardoned Phil’s mediocre music” 1. PANel-PANcreatic islet cell tumors 2. PITbulls-PITuitary adenomas 3. PARdoned-PARathyroid hyperplasia 4. PHil’s-PHeochromocytoma 5. MEDiocre-MEDullary thyroid carcinoma 6. MUsic-MUcosal neuromas Each of the three syndromes get three things from the list. MEN 1 gets the first three (1-3), MEN 2B gets the last three (4-6). MEN 2A gets the middle three closer to 2B (3-5). It’s a little complicated but it gets everything.
