No this is patrick The class 465/0, /1, /2 and/9’s are really good. So is the class 466 and 365 networkers, they are all better than the class 323 Hyper Networkers.

And also its because the windows which are on this service the top ones are all open and its hard to hear the announcments but its easy to hear them when the train stops at stations or when its helded to red signal

Takes me back to the 90's when I used to see these on Rugby/Brighton runs on the WCML (in connex livery). I know they're from the 80s but they have a very similar character to the early AC sets like the 302-309 units and even some of the old southern DC units, as did the 321s. I used to love standing by the lineside some way down from a station and having these units (and the 86-90 locos) scream at you as they worked upto maximum speed. By the time they're doing about 60+mph they sound like an F1 car passing 😃

@@williamhuang8309 Nah the "PEP units" like the 313/507 etc are quite a bit older. 1970s design with aluminium bodies. The 319s are from the 80s and Mk3 based with steel bodies. Very little in common between them.

Now that's a VERY pleasant sound. Reminds me of the old stock I worked on on the Southern Region. I know the chap who was responsible for comissioning these units. Have a listen to the EMU100 too by the way. These 5 - car sets were built to BREL MK2 design for Taiwan in the 70's. Great proper train sounds there too, and best of all, Taiwan Railways have retained two units in the original paint scheme. Somehow I doubt any 319s will be saved from the scrapman here - too much red tape and far too many meddling elf'n'safety types.

What an awful noise, trains nowadays seem to be lowering the standard of passenger comfort, steam and diesel hauled trains as well as the HST trains we quieter and smoother than this class, even Pacers were quieter, what has happened to progress? Another load of rubbish that we have had dumped on us from the south!

These trains are fairly quiet provided you don't sit in the power car (with pantograph). Alot of people love the noise; i certainly always made a point of sitting in the power car whenever i went on a 319. They are quality trains manufactured by BREL, York. Agree that the IC125 is nice and quiet.

There are Aventras, you can go on them because those trains make no noise. I don't think the sound in these units are awful but that's your opinion mate.
