I'm a mobile operator in NC that's looking to get my start in tower cranes. This is incredibly useful.

Something about the beauty of Seattle always gets me. It’s just unfortunate what’s happening on the ground… I run excavators and Dozer’s as well and honestly there are times where I really miss it ! Hope you’re doing good my friend!

I have only found one broken boom lacing during a daily inspection in the past 8 years. I witnessed 3 get broke out of the boom tip once during a rigging failure on a whip line that caused a shock load and as a result the main block came crashing backwards into the boom.nice video i love your content. Hopefully god will guide me on this path someday i love it up high.

Dam!!! Less than a handful of times have I seen scary stuff like this happen and it’s never pretty! That’s one thing that I don’t believe a lot of people understand about what kind of work we do and how dangerous it is. I have no doubt in my mind that if this is the path that you want to walk my brother, you will definitely get there!! God bless you and your family, my friend

You've said it, what a beautiful view. Wow, must be a huge adrenaline rush. If you find a problem during your inspection, do you have to fix it? Anyway, keep safe.
@foxhollerhomestead
@foxhollerhomestead Жыл бұрын
Honestly, my friend it’s one of my favorite times of the month! So if I do find an issue, then I don’t necessarily fix it unless I am able but what I can do is automatically shut down the crane and contact my company and they will send out individuals to fix/repair if need be. Then, depending on what the issue was, the crane might have to have a third-party inspector come in

Hi from Sweden and thank you for a great video of your inspection. I was very young when I got interested in tower cranes and really wanted to be an operator myself but poor eyesight unfortunately stopped that option I´m afraid. But at almost 62 I really enjoy your and other videos of tower cranes and how to maintain and operate them. And bye the way we had a pioneering tower crane factory in Sweden called Lindén and their cranes was a very common sight in the 60´s, 70´s and 80´s all over Sweden and abroad as well.

Hey there my friend!! Man, that is hard to hear that you were not able to pursue being a tower operator because of your eyes! As far as Linden towers go, we do have Linden comansa… is that the same company? Anyhow, I really appreciate you watching and commenting and I send many blessings from our family to yours !! 🙏🏗️

Good afternoon brother! Appreciate all the constructive content. I’ve been running towers out of Local 9 for about a year now. I’d love to hear your thoughts on operating in stressful situations. For example high winds or approaching storms. I would imagine you see a lot of weather being that close to the coast.
@foxhollerhomestead
@foxhollerhomestead Жыл бұрын
Afternoon my brother! Most definitely great idea! I have made videos in the past about specific situations, but it would be good to encompass all of those situations in one video. To give a operator’s perspective! I will definitely start working on that. Probably sometime this week or next. Stacy, my brother! 🙏🇺🇸🏗️

Hey man! Thanks for the help, I contacted Dean Stoneburner a couple months back and applied to the local 302 and got my interview for the apprenticeship in January! I’m from Ca and always wanted to live in WA. Is there any pointers you can give me on the interview? Or any books or videos anything that would help I wanna learn everything I can and be devoted and put my all into this job to be a tower crane operator.

Dean is a really really good guy along with many many others in this industry and as far as Washington, I checked out your profile, and it looks like you are skateboarding? There is a ton of outdoor sports here, especially in the winter and the summer and I guess all year round if that’s what you’re into!! Like I said, we’ll talk more soon hit me up

How much they pay & how much hours you make brother if you don’t mind me asking 😊
@foxhollerhomestead
@foxhollerhomestead Жыл бұрын
Honestly, it’s going to come down to whether you are union or nonunion as well as your geographical location. Some states and union pay higher wages. Typically in Washington for union operators. You all start off at around 100 K and go up from there, depending on the height of the crane and the overtime hours worked
