Been a fantastic vlog guys. Full of emotion for me. My husband, Richard and I are Brits in France in the SW Dordogne, and bought our motorhome ealy 2016 to spend our winters in the Spanish sunshine (it can be really cold and wet here !) and to tour France during its glorious summers. That is exactly what we have done. We have watched you on your very entertining travels for as long as I can remebrer, you will have to tell me how long you have been vloging, must be as long as we have had the van and watching you regularly. That is, we were - up until two years ago, when Richard had a second cancer diagnosos which was much more than the first. Unfortunately it meant the end of our travels and sadly, it eventualy took him from me. It has been a difficult time since for me - watching you Sarah, on your Solo Night Out in Vinny, really struck a cord. Our van sits on the terrace unused - do I sell or have a go - Solo ? I understood your fears totally, got them myself and I'm not very mechanically savy. Will have to try I guess 🤔. Keep making your videos, just love them, even though I am watching them alone now, they are giving me much pleasure and Luv you guys 💖

So sorry for your loss. Maybe you could start by just travelling a short distance from home to see how you feel then you could go home if you feel uncomfortable, even start using the van for the day first and spend the night in the drive. Maybe join a singles group to travel with. Hope you have a dog. Better to be out there than at home alone. Good wishes 😘🇬🇧

I have been housebound for the last 10 years. If it wasn’t for my 2 dogs (Barney passed away 2 years ago but I still have Freddy) I don’t think I would be here now. Channels like this also help. A window to the world. Get yourself a little dog. 🤗

Try to get it running and explore places near you first, even just going there and back in the day. We often use our camper in this way. Draw a circle on a map from your home around places within 50 miles of you say. Go there. Park up chill out or explore for the day and then head home. Perhaps in that way you can build up your confidence.

Been to Benidorm, I absolutely loved it, stayed all inclusive for a month, amazing beach and clean. Loving old and new town. Bus route s to some nice places, lots to do, something for everyone. Want to go again and there are some nice campsites there and have experienced the campsites. Glad you enjoyed it.

I heard someone say that Benidorm is very friendly to the environment, which seems a bit counterintuitive. But actually, if they had built ordinary, two or three storey hotels with the same number of bed, a lot more of the coastline would have to be sealed with concrete.

I think Benidorm is vastly underated. Yes there are parts that are tacky but people are enjoying themselves and a key part of Spanish culture is about allowing people to be themselves. Outside of the Benidorm town there are some lovely areas to explore. Albir, in particular the walk up to the lighthouse, the seafront from Albir to Altea, the train journey to Denia, the view from Denia Castle as well as the villages in the area. Of course it is not just the Brits that enjoy Benidorm. We found that out staying in a hotel full with Dutch seniors that danced all night long

Great vid as always - Benidorm’s mayor, Zaragoza actually rode his Vespa to Madrid and had a meeting with Franco to ask if he could drum up tourism by letting people wear bikinis. Franco said yes and, despite the archbishop of Valencia threatening to ex communicate Zaragoza, Franco told him if you get any problems, speak to me! It clearly worked well😊

I use an Omnia oven on my gas stovetop at home. Saves putting the oven on. Saves money on gas! You can cook so much in it. Or heat up garlic bread. The bread and cakes come out like a giant donut but that just add to the fun.

Go south down the coast to Santa Pola. Drive the sea front between Alicante, via Gran Aresnals to Santa Pola and enjoy the dunes and beachs (and dog beaches), and sea side bars. Lots of campers, lots of friendly people, much quieter than Benidorm

Our first Holidays when we were toddlers was Benidorm, Summer & Winter in the 1970s I swear the Hotel is still there. Great as kids and all the Tours on the Donkeys, now stopped of course. You had to buy a Spanish Donkey & Castenets & Flamengo dolls to bring home too though 😉

I'd say Benidorm is where a lot of British expats would love to be as community. For example, there was a Welsh couple who had lived in Fethiye in Turkey since 2017. I met them during their stay here and got to know on facebook that they have moved in Benidorm recently. Now they are looking to buy a house reasonably priced . Hope they will find soon.

Hi Guys, love your videos, we live 30 mins from Benidorm, in the mountains, next time you pass by, visit the Alguar Waterfalls, and Guadalest villiage, the reservoir just outside the village is magical and you can see it from the Guadalest castle. Yes I always found it exciting seeing the skyscrapers as you drive along the main road. But you are right it is sort of exciting but very British. Is Benidorm Palace still open, if so there is a super place to go and the Sunday Market is great. You say stay in a campsite, there are loads of them and they are quite expensive so don't stay too long when you come back. Take care, good luck with MOT

I went to Benidorm 2 christmas's on the trot for a bit of warmth with a 6 year old about 29 years ago, it was good and not what i was expecting just the one night i took him to a kids disco with a Micheal Jackson entertainer, well they ushered all the kids off behind these pool tables/pingpong acting as covers and Sticky Vicky came on 😂I was like what the hell and was afraid to just stand up and walk out, i am sure the kids were peeping through these tables but i never asked or mentioned it ever. But i guess it was an experiece haha, after that we stuck to the tourist outings like the jousting in the castle etc. I do remember Levante side had the best indoor market for food with tapas bars in it, also christmas eve at the church by the harbour at midnight was magical, with hot horse chestnut vendours all along. My son is in Mallorca at the min but booked for Beniform for this Christmas ( with hischildren/ my grandchildren) so he must have liked it too

Benidorm has changed over the years, they clean the beaches morning and night now so you don't find "nasty" things when you're sunbathing... I can't believe how much stuff you have in Vinnie :O... Benidorm reminds me of Waikiki Beach in Hawaii, U.S. Except giant hotels then a tiny bit of beach. (I was disappointed at that bit) we went on outrigger canoes in the channel there though. That was awesome. Scary, though, they tip over SO EASILY. Had to get back in on the outrigger part, though, too flippy. 😰 Glad you made it home okay and Nicky is feeling better. I hate antibiotics.... always have a bad effect on me. Hugs to all four. Love you guys.

My wife and I like Benidorm. I went there for my stag weekend with my mates in a cheap hotel. Got very very drunk on the cheap. I've since been back there with my wife a few times and she likes the relaxed walking and countless bars.

Benidorm conjures up images of what I originally thought most of Spain was like. I guess if cheap beer and sun is your thing then fair enough but personally you couldn’t pay me to go there. Many years ago I dated a Spanish girl who seemed to take a dislike to most Brits and they only ever wanted to holiday in Benidorm and the Canary Islands plus they didn’t know the struggle the Spanish had when Franco was in power. I just used to wind her up and tell her Benidorm was fantastic and who in earth was Franco…… we didn’t stay together very long 😂😂😂😂😂

Glad you got back home safe and well, just a thought, because Nick has been on antibiotics for a few weeks, it might be worth him getting some probiotics to replace the gut flora that has been wiped out by the antibiotics. The brand that was recommended to me is Bio Kult it contains 14 different strains, I use them on a regular basis, they are excellent 🙂❤️X
