AbsoluteBLACK (Absolute CRAP) sent me a Cease and Desist Lawsuit so I broke their EUROBIKE Display

This display was utter crap, just like AbsoluteBlack's products.
AbsoluteBlack (whose real name is LUCIDIP SLU) is registered in Andorra and claims to have offices in 5 countries combined with no presence in the UK or EU for tax purposes despite having a claimed design office in the UK and a manufacturing "plant" in Poland. Their contradictory statements continue, as despite claiming to have no UK presence, their customerl support number is in fact a UK mobile phone. And here's the number in case anyone wants to check it [phone]
Their "CEO" famously claimed his crappocage had the same properties as a cooking egg along with claims it was equipped with "fully ceramic" bearings that turned out to melt because some of the internal components were PLASTIC! He also claimed to have had the bearings tested by an unknown professor at an unspecified Portuguese university specializing in Friction?!??!

So indulge me a moment as I tell you a side story... a few years ago, someone at Schwalbe reached out to me to buy some vintage bike tubes. They were dealing with a lawsuit from some other similarly shady business as Absolute Black, in Switzerland supposedly as I recall, over polyurethane inner tubes. Schwalbe had brought their own to market and got cease & desist lettered and the patent claim lawsuited. The reason they contacted me was I had original, new old stock, in original packaging Panaracer Poly-Lite tubes, WITH their patent numbers on the boxes. These tubes date back about 35 years. So the patent has obviously long since expired, but they count as prior art... in other words...whatever swiss company claims they invented using polyurethane for bicycle inner tubes...was lying when they filed for their patent. Schwalbe wanted some hard physical evidence for their counter-suit. It must have gone well for them because they never needed to send me an affidavit to fill out after the tubes were delivered to them. I feel like Absolute Black is just trying to threaten a suit and doesn't realize the mess they'll be in when you have hard physical evidence to plunk down.

If someone hurts the Patentschutz, he has to remove the products first from the market but as i understood it, it was outdated!? Every time something "new" comes out in the cycling industry I shake my head. All of these outlandish claims, or even them offering up some stupid ass number as to why "our product saves you 6% of your energy, AND is 8% more aerodynamic than last years model, saving you 42 seconds per kilometer." It is the same as in the golfing industry where every year their new driver is "30 yards longer than last years model." If it were true then we would be hitting drives 800 yards now instead of just 300 yards.

The modern bikes most certainly are light years ahead compared to bikes of the 90s and early 2000s. Whenever I ride my older bikes I don't come near my numbers on my ribble ultra sl r. So while they may exaggerate performance improvements, there definitely are improvements happening

The only way to get organic baby seal tears is to beat a baby seal with the tusk of a narwhal.
