_bare minimum_ draw cards shouldn't be able to draw themselves. needing _two_ zero cost draw cards and a zero cost attack is _still_ an extremely easy infinite.

@Retromation absolutely agree; first time I won with max it took me getting 6 copies of quick-think B (0 mana draw 2, events are fun) and even then i barely got away with it because of some sloppy deckbuiding choices

I love how in each run there's just a little bit of character and plot progression, not even in the form of memories, but things like Books or Max talking with Cat

I think it has something to do with the "win 10 times" achievement ship- sort of how you have to beat Mom's Heart/It Lives a bunch of times to go further in Isaac

Riggs+Max are my favorite combination. Either has infinite potential by themselves, but they can synergize together so it's basically guranteed that youll get offered an infinite combo so long as you prioritize a thin enough deck.

The way the cards seem to be discarded before they trigger their effects, thus letting Draw cards potentially draw themselves is certainly an interesting choice.

I tried Isaac in Jupiter as you suggested and got Drone Piercer, which justifies an Isaac slot even if you never take any of his cards. Attack Drone in the starting deck still feels bad, though.

Yup, the artifacts are nuts. You can just consider attack drone an easy card removal, which is honestly a win-win to have such an easy card to trim for thin decking.

Isaac feels alot better when you lean completely into him, if you pick good support for him he can completely take over the battle, I suggest running with riggs and either drake, peri, and dizzy as your last pick

Im still looking forward to Isaac on the Gemini. I thought it would be a first pick, because you can launch two drones on the same turn without any dodge or midrow slide... I also cant help imagining double upgraded astroids filling the entire middle lol

Isaac and Riggs with Books can get you ‘free’ attacks which can get multiplied… plus drawing from crystals can let you get a one turn fleet with some planning

Parry is only one of the many ways to do it, you can also do it using exclusively riggs cards to do a similar deck cycling build and then use charge beam to 1 shot the boss, or you can do a deck cycling run and just use 0 cost damage cards like the wave beams or easier the basic shot after upgrading it, you can also beat the shop keeper using the jupiter ship to pump out a jupiter drone, then use anything that lets you draw and itll give you another jupiter drone, repeat till you have 3 or 4 of them out then hand cannon or parry to 1 shot

Passing on the "heal every combat" when you have +1 to healing is definitely a choice.

I encourage you to scroll through the video and count all the times after zone 1 that I was missing not only 1, but _2_ hull, and then reply to this comment how you feel about the decision. Healing is the choice you take in a roguelike when you're either new at the game, bad at the game, or losing really bad. None were relevant. These are the kind of trap choices you need to avoid if you want to become better at roguelikes. You have to take risks. You need strength over safety in order to scale.

When i noticed draw cards can put itself in hand and there is 0 mana draw two, I knew infinity is definitely possible. I just didn't expect it to be so easy to achieve.

Max especially combod with Riggs is basically guaranteeing youll get offered an infinite combo, you just need to prioritize thinning the deck and then just accepting combo pieces when theyre offered to you. 5 out 5 runs with riggs, max, and anyone else ends in an infinite combo by the 3rd zone if not sooner.

Not sure if you have learned, but status can include movement, shield, etc also. Which in my opinion makes that gain additional status card "boost" much worse depending on the deck. You can't save the boost for good stuff you want to duplicate because boost gets eaten by gaining shield or movement.

"Shield and Temp Shield are no longer considered statuses. Mechanically, the only impact of this is that Boost’s “add X to your next status” will not be added to Shield or Temp Shield" from some recent patch notes. I wonder if evade is still considered

I definitely need to unlock Max as quickly as possible. I've only gotten to Drake so far. I'm thinking Riggs, Isaac and Max. With Isaac I can get the brokenly OP Jupiter drones on any ship to multiply damage, and with hand cannon from Riggs and Math.Max to draw ten extra cards, I might even be able to oneshot Cleo. (Perri, Max and Isaac would probably be better though...)

You make it look so easy. I just tried hardest mode 13 times with Max, Isaac, and Drake. Not a single win. I got to zone 3 once, most died in the first zone. It's very clear that I do not play card games very often.

@@MBoy2000_ As fun as that would be, I'm afraid Books collecting crystals isn't what gives Big Crystal its empty spots; that's just a modification of Hardest difficulty. Other enemies throughout the game get modifications too, though few are as obvious as Big Crystal's.

Alright, I ll admit that Max may have a use after all. I knew about the card that plays another of course, but didnt see the value as most of the 3 cost cards I typically think about are single use, arent cycled like Peri's Parry. Additionally, I just saw his card draw as worse than what Riggs gives you. I still think that's true as I generally remove Max's cards even before the basics when I do run him. However, what you put together is undeniably more powerful than anything I have come up with so far. Great job killing the shop keep too.
