When I was pregnant with my youngest son and going through chemo, I used to play this song every single day of the 119 days I was on bedrest. JC's name is Joshua Chasez. He was on the Mickey Mouse Club (started a few years before Justin, Christina, Britney, and Ryan Gosling) there was already a mousketeer named Josh so he was named JC. He kept that "stage name" when he joined NSYNC.

That’s why even though JC got to do an album, he wasn’t given an even playing field. I mean JT had a few good years but he’s done nothing since Future Love Sex Sound 🤷🏼‍♀️ IMO JC WAS the better singer/dancer and performer. Such a shame he wasn’t given the same opportunity 😢 His talent as a songwriter/producer is phenomenal and I’d love him to come back with new music cos we need to hear that beautiful voice of his … fingers crossed he does but I won’t hold my breath. I just hope he’s happy and living his life xx

You should check out JC’s performance with Smokey Robinson and Aloe Blacc singing “My Girl.” Their voices are so smooth and blend so perfectly! When JC is performing with his equals (let’s be real most of the other Nsync members were mediocre singers at best), his talent shines even more. JC has a 4 octave range (but his voice range is a bit higher than most male vocalists cause he is more of a Spinto Tenor), still he can cover practically any range (except Bass) very well. He has the best all around voice to come out of ANY boyband, including current popular ones! Smokey himself has even come out and stated JC has one of the best male vocals he’s ever heard. Even in Nsync, it was very very clear that the guy carried the group. All of the parts Justin sang could have easily been replaced with Joey or Chris singing them. Backstreet had more members with solid overall vocal talent, but Nsync had better harmonies (cause they actually had a definite solid range of voice and weren’t made up of mostly Tenors like BSB). NSYNC’s biggest advantage over BSB was their ability to dance while singing live very well AND JC’s powerhouse vocals.

JC Chasez’ real name is Joshua Scott Chasez. He went by the initial JC bc mickey mouse club (the show where he used to be a member in) already had a guy named Joshua/Josh so they can’t have 2 Joshuas to avoid confusion. But his family and close friends actually call him Josh. JC is just a stage name.

New to your channel. Great reaction video :) i don't know if someone already mentioned it in the comments, but Justin has always said that JC's voice was one of his top favorite voices of all time. And knows that JC has got the vocal acrobatics that he (Justin) doesn't have. But on Lance's podcast a few years ago, in so many words, Justin said that when they received the demo from Richard Marx for "This I Promise You", Marx sounded so amazing on it (bc he is lol) that Justin thought, "how are we gonna do this song? How are we gonna not necessarily top it but make it as good or put the *NSYNC flavor on it when this is already so good?" and Justin continued (and again, I paraphrase), "I knew I could open the song, put my smooth ballad type falsetto vocals on it, and then hand it over to JC and he'll take it away and do JC's thing, and sure enough, he did." And you definitely notice it-- that Justin opens it and then it's JC's lead for the rest :) Lastly, I think that real true *NSYNC fans know that *NSYNC is a sound--you really can't have *NSYNC without any single member present: no Lance--no bass. No Chris--no countertenor (and sometimes contralto? I'd have to check lol). No Joey--no mid harmonies (he has the hardest notes to sing in all the harmonies imo lol) . No JC--no belting and heavy runs. No Justin--no soft crooner. (I'm not musically trained but these are just my observations as a huge fan of theirs). They are one of the very few groups that when one is missing, you can hear it. Hopefully you can react in the future to an acapella compilation because that's where you'll see you they really shine w/o all the production.

This is my favorite song from Nsync which is so sad considering it's basically a more produced version of Richard Marx's original, with 2 leads instead of one. Just about all of the adlibs are even the same. I've always loved JC's voice though. I would love a studio version of JC and Richard singing because their live performances together are amazing.
